Our fantasy football rankers are some of the best in the business, but that doesn’t mean they always agree. Twice a week, our rankers will highlight some names they are furthest from the staff consensus fantasy rankings on and explain why you should either be targeting those players or steering clear in your 2024 drafts.
3 You’re Too Low On for 2024
Raheem Mostert, RB, Miami Dolphins
Staff ranking: RB22
My ranking: RB17
Talk about a draft day steal — Raheem Mostert is currently maybe the best deal in drafts — even here in our rankings, he is being slept on. He is fresh off a season where he posted his first 1,000-yard rushing season and scored 18 times, good enough for 255.2 half-PPR points, overall RB2 numbers. 42.3% of his points coming via touchdowns, so it is fair to expect some regression, but yet again we are talking about an electric Dolphins offense that scores at will most weeks. Mostert is entering his age-32 season, but unlike most backs his age, injuries and a lack of opportunity have limited his career carries to only 674 far fewer than most. According to FTN’s advanced stats, in 2023, Mostert had a 45.9% success rate on his attempts, fifth best in the league — a stat his backfieldmate De’Von Achane led (55.3%). We also saw both Achane and Mostert finish inside the bottom 15 in stuffed run rate, while finishing inside the top 10 in explosive run rate (percentage of runs over 10 yards) — Achane led the way at a rate of 21.4%, while Mostert finished 10th with a rate of 14.4%.
