The 2025 NFL schedule is now out. We know every game, every location, every weird location and spotlight game. So someone who is smart enough can tell each team’s results from every game, right?

Well, no. Obviously not. A lot of stuff can happen. But it’s sure fun to try. Today, with the entire schedule in front of me, I’m going to predict the results of every game of the 2025 season. It’s a big task, but at the end we’ll have a full set of won-loss predictions for every team in 2025. I’ll update the standings after every other week so you can see how the season goes.

Let’s go.

In a shock to no one, the AFC South gets off to a very rough start, with the Texans over the Buccaneers the division’s only win through two weeks. But with the Ravens, Eagles and Chiefs already having losses, some big names aren’t off to elite starts. Meanwhile, look at the undefeated Panthers!

The third-place Chiefs? Kansas City was a lot of smoke and mirrors in 2024, and it looks like some of that might come back to bite them in 2025, especially with the rest of the division improving. Through four weeks, we’re down to two undefeated teams (the Bills and Chargers) and five winless teams (the Browns, Jaguars, Titans, Giants and Saints).

We’re all out of undefeated teams by the end of Week 6 after the Falcons take down the Bills at home. Cleveland and New Orleans are still winless, though. Over in the AFC West, every team is .500 or better, though the Chiefs are tied for last. Meanwhile, the NFC West is looking like a dogfight.

The Browns won a game! That leaves the Saints as the last team with a 0 in its standings ledger. In New England, the Mike Vrabel tenure is off to a good start, with the Patriots sitting in second place at 6-3. And in the AFC North, are we looking at the end of the Steelers’ over-.500 ways?

The Saints win! Do I know who will be under center for them when it happens? I do not. Now, attention turns to the race for the bottom in the AFC South, with the Jags and Titans both struggling. Also sprinting to the bottom: The Dolphins, who are 1-7 since a 2-0 start.

The “Chargers and Broncos are taking over the AFC West!” storylines are really heating up at this point. And between that and the NFC North, we have two divisions through Week 12 with every team over .500. That’s pretty wild, and the South divisions are suffering as a result.

Even though the NFC North is overall a strong division, the Lions are running away with it, up four games with five to go. Same in the AFC East, where the Bills are closing everything out. The Texans are winning the AFC South, but it’s not exactly blowing anyone away. And the Steelers are down to no more wiggle room — one more loss, and the .500-or-better streak is over.

The Lions and Bills have clinched division titles, while the Broncos, Ravens and Buccaneers are almost there. But in the AFC South, the Colts have won three of four while the Texans have lost three of four, bringing the division title into question. And the Jets have won four in a row to get to 7-8 and within theoretical spitting distance of a wild card.

Takeaways from the 2025 Schedule

Each league features six of seven returning playoff teams, with the Bengals and 49ers booting the Steelers and Packers, respectively. Boring? Yeah, kinda. The exciting part, though, is the Chiefs just sneaking in as the 7 seed after years of dominance. Patrick Mahomes on the road in the wild card? That’s new.

The Browns and Giants tie for the worst record in 2025. But with the Browns having a slightly lower strength of schedule, they claim the first overall pick for 2026.

The Raiders fall short of the playoffs, but a 9-8 first year for the Tom Brady/Pete Carroll regime has to be seen as a success, especially given the gauntlet of the AFC West.

Once again, the Colts make a late push for the AFC South title but fall short. Is an 8-9 season enough to give Anthony Richardson Sr. another contract? Probably not.

A 7-10 Steelers season has to be just crushing. Ends the .500-or-better streak, but also isn’t nearly bad enough to find the quarterback of the future. Going to be some angry Pittsburghians (Pittsburghers?).
