Collin Sexton Out Versus Clippers

Utah Jazz guardCollin Sexton(ankle) will remain sidelined for Thursday's matchup against the Los Angeles Clippers. This will mark his sixth straight absence due to a left ankle sprain. His next chance to suit up comes after the All-Star break against the Thunder on February 21st. Jordan Clarkson(foot)will also be out of action, so 21-year-old Keyonte Georgeis most likely the prime candidate to see more minutes on the floor this evening.

Collin Sexton Remains Out Wednesday

Utah Jazz guard Collin Sexton (ankle) will remain sidelined for Wednesday's matchup against the Los Angeles Lakers. This will mark his fifth straight absence due to a left ankle sprain. Sexton has one more chance to return before the All-Star break as Utah completes a back-to-back on Thursday versus the Los Angeles Clippers. On Wednesday, we should see Jordan Clarkson get another start in Sexton's place. Since rejoining the first unit, Clarkson has averaged 23.7 points and 4.0 assists while making 4.7 three-pointers per game.

Kenyon Martin Jr. Heading To Detroit

Keith Pompey of The Philadelphia Inquirerreports that the Detroit Pistons acquired forward Kenyon Martin Jr. (foot) along with 2027 and 2031 second-round draft picks from the 76ers on Wednesday. In return, the Pistons will take on Martin's salary. Martin hasn't played since December 23rd due to a left foot stress reaction. However, he was a full participant in practice on Monday and could see an expanded role off the bench for his new club once he is healthy and ready to return.

Collin Sexton To Miss At Least One Week

Utah Jazz guard Collin Sexton (ankle) has been ruled out ahead of Wednesday's game and won't be on the court for at least a week. Sexton suffered a left ankle sprain during Monday's contest. The team has decided to let him rest and re-evaluate Sexton in a week. The Jazz aren't exactly playing for anything right now, so it wouldn't be shocking to see Sexton sit out through the All-Star break. In the meantime, Jordan Clarkson and Keyonte George should see bigger roles in the rotation. Both have been solid fantasy options lately. Clarkson is still working his way back from injury, so George might be the safer option at the moment. However, both players should be viable options while Sexton is sidelined.

Lauri Markkanen Listed As Questionable For Wednesday

Utah Jazz forward Lauri Markkanen (back) is listed as questionable ahead of Wednesday's game against the Golden State Warriors. Markkanen seemed fine during Monday's game against the Indiana Pacers. The 27-year-old has been dealing with a lingering back issue for some time, but he has played over 30 minutes per game in each of the last three contests. The Jazz aren't exactly playing for anything this season, so opting to rest Markkanen for younger players isn't shocking. Brice Sensabaugh and Kyle Filipowski should see more action in the rotation if Markkanen is out. Both players are possible low-end streaming options if Markkanen heads to the bench.
