Phoenix Suns guard/forward Cody Martin (abdomen) will be active on Friday against the Sacramento Kings. He is set to end a lengthy absence, having last taken the court on Jan. 24 when he was still a member of the Charlotte Hornets. The 29-year-old has been dealing with a sports hernia. Considering the team's struggles, Phoenix must be delighted to get some extra help in the form of Martin, through he is not expected to have a significant impact in fantasy basketball.

Before moving to Phoenix, Martin averaged 7.8 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 2.3 assists in 24.8 minutes with the Charlotte Hornets. It's unlikely he will get near these numbers with his new team, as there are now a lot more bodies ahead of Martin on the depth chart.

While the trade was mostly about moving Nurkic, Martin is an interesting addition to the Suns. The 29-year-old has been limited to 39 games this season but has produced 7.8 points, 4.5 rebounds, 2.3 assists, and 1.1 steals in his 24.8 minutes per game. He has shown good upside in higher usage situations, and he could work his way into a meaningful role in the Suns' second unit, but his role is very undefined at this point.

Martin will miss his fourth contest in a row due to a sports hernia injury. Josh Green(foot) is listed as probable for this evening, so if he can suit up, he will take a large amount of Martins minutes on the floor. Josh Okogie andDaQuan Jeffries could also see expanded roles versus the Clippers.
