Usman Garuba Heading Back To Spain

Spanish forward/center Usman Garuba is set to return to his homeland on a long-term contract with Real Madrid. According to Sportando, Garuba will sign a deal until 2029. The 22-year-old has spent three seasons in the NBA. He made six appearances with Golden State in 2023-24. Garuba has also suited up for Houston, averaging 2.6 points and 3.8 rebounds in 11.7 minutes across 105 appearances in the Association. The Madrid-born big man is a highly-rated rebounder and defender but never really made things work for himself in the NBA. Judging by the length of the contract he's signing with Real, it looks like Garuba isn't planning to return to America any time soon.

Khris Middleton Has Surgery On Both Ankles This Offseason

NBA Insider Shams Charania of The Athletic has reported that Milwaukee Bucks forward Khris Middleton is expected to be ready for next season after undergoing arthroscopic surgeries on both of his ankles this offseason. The operations were successful and the veteran forward will hope for improved health during the 2024-2025 campaign after he was limited to 55 games last year. During the 2023-24 regular season, Middleton averaged 15.1 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 5.3 assists. Milwaukee will need their sharpshooter to stay healthy to contend for an NBA title.

Julius Randle's Recovery "Going Incredibly Well"

New York Knicks forward Julius Randle (shoulder) continues to rehab following surgery. Fortunately, he's moving in the right direction, with SNY's Ian Begley reporting things are "going incredibly well." The 29-year-old averaged 24.0 points, 9.2 rebounds, and 5.0 assists last season and is eligible to sign a four-year contract worth as much as $181.5 million on August 3. Yet, both sides aren't eager to get a new deal done. Randle believes he can be a difference-maker for the Knicks in 2024-25. However, with Jalen Brunson, OG Anunoby, Josh Hart, Donte DiVincenzo, and Mikal Bridges on the roster, Randle could take a step back on the offensive end.

Josh Richardson Hopes To Be Ready For Training Camp

Miami Heat guard Josh Richardson (shoulder) resumed shooting on July 2 and is optimistic he'll be ready for training camp. The veteran averaged 9.9 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 2.4 assists last season. Unfortunately, he suffered a shoulder injury in February and underwent surgery in March, limiting him to only 43 appearances. If Richardson can stay healthy during the 2024-25 campaign, he has a chance to land a routine role in the rotation while also seeing a few starts. However, he's not expected to be a consistent fantasy contributor.

Bronny James Helps Lakers To Victory With 12-Point Effort

Los Angeles Lakers guard Bronny James got going offensively with 12 points on 5-for-11 shooting and helped the team to its first Summer League win on Wednesday against Atlanta. After finishing 0-for-15 from deep in his first four Summer League outings, James shot 2-for-5 from three-point range. He also registered one rebound and one steal in an 87-86 win. It's been a rough ride for James in the Summer League, but Wednesday's performance should give him a confidence boost ahead of the final stretch of Summer League action. He's averaged 5.8 points, 3.2 rebounds, 1.2 assists, and 1.2 steals in 25.2 minutes.
