Marvin Bagley III Heading To Washington

According to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, the Wizards acquired forward/center Marvin Bagley III, Isaiah Livers, and two second-round picks from Detroit. In exchange, the Pistons received Danilo Gallinari and Mike Muscala. The focal point of the deal centers around Bagley, the No. 2 overall pick of the 2018 NBA Draft. He spent just over three seasons in Sacramento to begin his career. Unfortunately, he wasn't a constant performer and was moved to Detroit during the 2021-22 campaign. Since then, his situation hasn't changed, considering he's had a tough time finding a routine spot in the rotation. But Bagley has potential, averaging 14.0 points and 5.6 rebounds in 10 starts with the Pistons this season. If he can get consistent minutes with the Wizards, the 24-year-old will see an uptick in fantasy interest. Still, his shooting percentages need work, so fantasy managers with room to spare shouldn't label him as anything more than a speculative roster addition.

Daniel Gafford Questionable Versus The Spurs

Washington Wizards center Daniel Gafford (concussion) is questionable ahead of Saturday's matchup against the Spurs. He's in danger of missing a second consecutive contest, most recently sitting out in Thursday's narrow loss to the New York Knicks. The newly acquired Marvin Bagley III got the start in his place, and it didn't take the 24-year-old long to get acclimated with his new team, finishing with 20 points, 11 rebounds, three blocks, and two steals. Without question, Gafford's status will impact Bagley's ceiling versus San Antonio. However, Bagley deserves another start in all fantasy leagues, either way, especially after his most recent performance.

Isaiah Stewart Sidelined On Saturday

Detroit Pistons forward/center Isaiah Stewart (ankle) won't play on Saturday against Milwaukee. The 22-year-old has already missed 10 games this season for various reasons. However, he tweaked his ankle in Wednesday's matchup versus the Minnesota Timberwolves, so his most recent ailment could keep him on the shelf for at least a few more games. With Isaiah Livers and Marvin Bagley III now in Washington, Ausar Thompson, who had nine rebounds and seven points on Wednesday, should continue to see more action. Kevin Knox II might also get more involved, although he's a hit-or-miss fantasy option.

Bennedict Mathurin Good To Go On Friday

Indiana Pacers guard/forward Bennedict Mathurin (ankle) will play on Friday versus Portland. The 21-year-old carried a questionable tag on Friday, just like he did ahead of Thursday's win over the Sacramento Kings. But he's good to go, although the return of Tyrese Haliburton (hamstring) and the debut of Pascal Siakam could significantly impact his production in all statistical areas. However, there's still no reason to keep him out of any fantasy lineup.

Tyrese Haliburton Officially Active On Friday

Indiana Pacers guard Tyrese Haliburton (hamstring) is officially active for Friday's meeting with the Portland Trail Blazers. The 23-year-old tweaked his hamstring during the January 8 matchup against the Boston Celtics, keeping him out of the lineup for Indiana's last five contests. Haliburton had indicated on Friday that he'd be good to go. However, things are now official. Of course, there's a chance he could see fewer minutes than usual, especially if the Pacers go up big. Haliburton will also be playing his first game with new teammate Pascal Siakam, so his production could suffer to a degree, although not enough to keep him out of any fantasy lineup.
