With Kyrie Irving off studying the ice rings tenuously holding together the flat earth and James Harden receiving lap dances from New York’s finest, someone has to step up to fill both enormous voids. Expect the former six-time All-Star to rise to the occasion. Kevin Durant can’t do everything. Griffin, in nine contests, has topped the proposed PRA number only once, Game 1 of the Bucks series. Still, shooting a respectable 38.2% from three over his last four games, he’s rediscovered his outside stroke. His tenacity on the glass — he’s averaged 8.5 boards per game in the Milwaukee series — and occasional dimes (2.3 assists per game last four) raise the floor, assuming his field-goal attempts uptick. Giannis and Friends have found their defensive groove allowing just 1.004 points per possession over their last three. However, Irving and Harden’s absences present a golden opportunity for Griffin to uncover his old form.
