MPJ may be a flat earther who believes the disk-shaped planet we inhabit is hilariously encased by a ring of ice, but, thankfully, there is nothing overly scientific about this selection. It’s one steeped in basic trend analysis and one mammoth game-changing factor — Jamal Murray’s crushing knee injury. Since the Blue Arrow’s derailment against the Warriors on April 12, Porter Jr. has undergone a usage spike, registering at least 33 minutes in four straight games. Banging the boards, he’s surged past the proposed total in six of his last seven contests. Houston is one of more forgiving interior teams in the league. The Rockets have allowed the competition to blast the glass early and often, ranking No. 28 in opponent defensive rebounding percentage and No. 22 in opponent offensive rebounding percentage. Overall, according to the FTN Daily advanced DvP tool, H-Town is the ninth-best matchup for a rebounder. Porter, who snagged nine boards in just 24 minutes against the Rockets in late December, is an excellent candidate to tally his fifth double-double in six games (+110 if he does at DK).
