The NBA is here, and that means we have tons of new stats, tools, and information to dive into for DFS. This article will present you with five actionable stats in order to help you with the night’s NBA slate of games.
We have five games ahead of us Tuesday, so let’s get to the stats.
1. Both the Grizzlies and Pelicans rank in the top 10 of pace this season
This plays into the hand of someone like Ja Morant, who stands out as an exceptional play and typically thrives in game with fast pace.
2. Ja Morant has a 41% usage and is averaging 1.55 FPPM this season with no Desmond Bane
This is a huge bump for a player who already has been seeing strong usage this season. This is obviously a smaller sample, but for context, that would be more usage than we are seeing from Luka Doncic.
3. Both the Knicks and the Jazz rank in the top 5 in pace so far this season
This is an unusual turnaround from two slower teams last season, but both teams have also experienced some changes in their rosters, so it makes sense. This game has a 231.5 implied total and could be one of the better fantasy environments of the night.
4. Kevin Durant is averaging 1.51 FPPM with no Kyrie Irving on the floor this season
He is also seeing a nice usage boost, up to nearly 37% with no Kyrie, which makes sense considering he is really the only true scorer on the floor for this Nets team, so he remains the primary focus. He now gets a great matchup against the Kings, who rank fifth in pace, 27th in DEF.
5. Portland Trail Blazers rank 6th in DEF this season
This is one of the best turnarounds of the season from a defensive perspective, as the Blazers were bottom five in DEF last season. The additions of Jerami Grant and Josh Hart (halfway through last season) have proved to help this team immensely on the defensive end.
