5 Stats to Know: NBA DFS January 5

When it comes to NBA we have tons of advanced stats, tools and information to dive into. This article will present you with five actionable stats in order to help you with the night’s NBA DFS slate of games. 

Let’s get into some actionable stats for this slate of games that will help you find top plays and/or games in order to build your best lineups.

1. 37.1

Ja Morant sports a whopping 37.1 usage rate this season when Desmond Bane and Brandon Clarke are off the floor, while his DK FPPM also goes up to over 1.53. 

2. 21st

This second stat plays nicely off the first one, the Magic rank 21st in defense this year, making for a good matchup for Ja Morant and the Grizzlies, who play at the fifth-fastest pace in the NBA — which should create a nice environment for this one. 

3. 28th

The Rockets rank 28th in defense this season, while their opponent Utah Jazz rank 26th. Two teams who are bad on the defensive end can often create interesting environments from a fantasy perspective. 

4. 6

This is the number of centers who rank inside the top 10 values for Thursday’s slate according to my NBA DFS Model. This might make it difficult at times to jam all of these players in, but on a slate with limited value options, these guys are all in play:

We haven’t seen him a ton this year, but in his 92 minutes, Robert Williams is averaging 1.15 FPPM. We know he can be a strong per-minute producer, and if he is able to get some more minutes here, he could really cash in on that $4.1k DK price.
