(Check out FTN’s full NBA playoff preview!)
The NBA Play-In Tournament is off and running, signaling the unofficial start of the NBA Playoffs, with Round 1 set to tip off Saturday. Unlike the regular season, player props for this weekend’s matchups have already been released days in advance, creating more time to extrapolate closing line value.
If you’re a member of the FTN Discord, you’re well aware of the line movement that occurs on a daily basis, which is even more drastic in the playoffs. One of the biggest edges in attacking postseason player props is understanding how minutes and rotations will fluctuate from the regular season, often leading to higher projections and more playing time for the starters. In this article,
I’m going to touch on a few of my favorite values for series leaders in Round 1 and a sneaky candidate for Finals MVP. Keep in mind, that these odds can change, so be sure to use the free FTN Prop Shop to get the best bang for your buck.
NBA Postseason Player Prop Guide
Anthony Edwards Most Series Points
(+185, FanDuel Sportsbook)

Anthony Edwards is red hot entering the postseason, coming off a career year and leading the NBA in three-pointers made (320). He averaged 27.6 points per game, barely trailing only Luka Dončić (28.2) for second most in the series, but he gets the much better matchup. We’ve seen Edwards show out in big games and I expect no different against the Lakers.
Paolo Banchero Most Series Rebounds
(+290, FanDuel Sportsbook)
The Magic dominated Atlanta in the first night of the Play-In Tournament, securing the seventh seed in the East and set to face Boston Sunday. Paolo Banchero was the leader of the offense, and although he was quiet as a scorer, he was dominant as both a rebounder and a facilitator. He’s been especially active on the glass in recent weeks, averaging 10.2 rebounds over his last five games. Although the matchup isn’t great, +290 for Banchero to lead the series in rebounds feels too long given his recent play.
Luke Dončić Most Series Assists
(+125, FanDuel Sportsbook)
Luka Dončić’s usage has taken a hit since joining the Lakers, but he’s still averaging 7.7 assists per game, trailing only LeBron James (8.2). Although James averaged more assists in the regular season, he’s taken a much bigger role as a scorer and less of a distributor, averaging 6.7 assists alongside Dončić. I expect the offense to continue to run through Dončić as the primary facilitator of the offense, making him the clear favorite to lead the series in assists.
NBA Finals MVP Evan Mobley
(+5000, BetRivers)
The Cavaliers have the third-shortest odds of winning the finals after finishing with the second-best record in the regular season (64-14). Although Donovan Mitchell is the more likely candidate to win MVP if Cleveland were to win the finals, I like the longer shot with Evan Mobley, who has taken a huge leap in his fourth season, turning into one of the better two-players in the league. Mobley set career-best marks in points per game (18.5), field goal percentage (58.3%) and free throw percentage (72.7%) while also making strides as a defender, trialing only Draymond Green for the second shortest odds for Defensive Player of the Year. His impact on both sides of the ball will be critical this postseason and +5000 feels far too long given Cleveland’s chances to win the title.
