Pennzoil 400 DFS breakdown

The NASCAR Cup Series heads to Nevada Sunday for the Pennzoil 400 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Below, we’re taking a look at the top DFS plays up and down the pricing pool for this week’s race.

Last week in this space, my core of William Byron, Chase Briscoe and Tyler Reddick combined for over 220 points, all but assuring a lineup that cashed. This season has really brought to the forefront a new cast of contenders. All three races won have been won by drivers with odds greater than 40:1. Matt DiBenedetto could continue that trend as he returns to the track where he finished second in both races last year.

There are not as many drivers starting way back in the field, but there are some solid plays starting midpack. I will be ranking my top drivers in each salary tier for each week’s race to help you construct that GPP-winning lineup.

For this week’s race, I have six guys in the top tier that I’m banking on. I also have quite a few inexpensive drivers that I think can contribute to a winning lineup.

High-salaried drivers

  • Joey Logano
  • Ryan Blaney
  • Kevin Harvick
  • Brad Keselowski
  • Chase Elliott
  • Kyle Busch

Mid-priced drivers

  • Matt DiBenedetto
  • Aric Almirola
  • Christopher Bell
  • Kurt Busch
  • Austin Dillon
  • Erik Jones

Values

  • Corey Lajoie
  • Ricky Stenhouse Jr.
  • Bubba Wallace
  • Chris Buescher
  • Ryan Preece
  • Anthony Alfredo

My core will consist of a lot of DiBenedetto, Lajoie and Blaney. I will mix who I believe could be lap leaders, like Logano, Keselowski and Harvick. I would not punt further than Alfredo, as there is plenty of value to construct solid lines without punting deep.
