Los Angeles Dodgers World Series Odds

After winning their first title since 1988, the Dodgers are the favorites to become repeat World Series champions in 2021. The team made headlines this summer with the signing of starting pitcher Trevor Bauer. The 2020 Cy Young winner will seamlessly slide into a rotation that already features an emerging ace in Walker Buehler and a future Hall of Famer in Clayton Kershaw. At +350 odds, you aren’t getting the greatest value, but it is going to be hard to bet against the Dodgers this season.

New York Yankees World Series Odds

The Yankees may have struggled down the stretch of 2020, but they are still the favorites to come out of the American League. With a lineup that includes the likes of Aaron Judge, Giancarlo Stanton, Gleyber Torres, Luke Voit and DJ LeMahieu, it is easy to see why oddsmakers believe in the Yankees this season. And while the rotation struggled in 2020 when Gerrit Cole was not on the mound, the additions of Corey Kluber and Jameson Taillon make the Yankees’ rotation much more formidable. +550 odds may not seem like amazing value right now, but that number could climb quickly if the Yanks get off to a hot start in 2021.

San Diego Padres World Series Odds

Fernando Tatis Jr. is arguably the game’s best and most exciting young player, and he was recently paid as such. Now the Padres look to be in win-now mode and are expecting to compete for a title in 2021. A lineup headlined by Tatis and Manny Machado led the Padres to a top-five finish in many offensive categories in the entire MLB, including home runs, RBIs, OPS, and total bases. This year, the Padres hope their offensive firepower will be complemented by improved pitching, with the additions of Yu Darvish, Blake Snell and Joe Musgrove. At +800 odds to win the World Series, the Padres are one of the better values on the board right now.

Other World Series Candidates

The New York Mets and the Atlanta Braves are two teams to keep an eye on in the National League. The Mets had an inconsistent season in 2020, but following an offseason full of headliner movers, the team has positioned itself to contend in 2021. The biggest move, of course, was trading for SS Francisco Lindor and SP Carlos Carasco. Lindor has the potential to be the game’s best middle infielder and adding him to a lineup that already features Pete Alonso, Michael Conforto and Jeff McNeil has to be scary to opposing pitchers. While +1000 to win the World Series feels like fair odds right now, things can change if Noah Syndergaard and Marcus Stroman return in 2021 at peak form.

For the Braves, they are running back a lineup that still features Ronald Acuña Jr, Freddie Freeman, Marcell Ozuna and Ozzie Albies. The addition of Charlie Morton will help bolster the team’s starting rotation. After finishing 2020 in first place in the NL East at 35-25, the Braves will try to continue their success in 2021. They currently have the same World Series odds as the Mets at +1000.

In the American League, the two teams to keep an eye on are the Chicago White Sox and the Minnesota Twins. For the first time in a while, the White Sox are the best professional sports team in Chicago. The team has an exciting lineup that features Tim Anderson, Eloy Jimenéz, Yoán Moncada, Luis Robert and José Abreu, all legitimate All Star candidates. There is a reason the oddsmakers are so high on this team (+800 to win the World Series).

The Minnesota Twins are another team to focus on in the American League. They’ll hit lots of home runs with Max Kepler, Josh Donaldson, Nelson Cruz, Niguel Sanó, and Alex Kiriloff in the lineup, and the addition of Andrelton Simmons helps their defense as well. If their starting rotation is able to keep games close the Twins (+2000) might be one of the best value bets on the board.
