Saturday baseball means we have two MLB DFS slates worth playing, an eight-gamer in the afternoon and then a four-game nightcap. The pitching on the afternoon is solid if possibly overpriced, while the four-game will give you the chance for a calculated fade.

Let’s start with the pitchers I’m relatively uninterested in at the top of the salary grid in Tanner Houck, Cole Ragans and Zac Gallen. I don’t think Houck is going to put up the best score on the slate against a Padres offense that doesn’t strike out much; Cleveland is in the top eight in all offensive categories against lefties; and Gallen has been out for a month and he didn’t go on a rehab assignment. He reportedly did get to 67 pitches in a simulated game, but that’s a lot to pay for someone who hasn’t been in a game since May, even with due respect to Gallen. Ragans is my favorite of the bunch followed by Houck, but I just don’t think we need to spend because DK dropped the ball on the pricing elsewhere.
