Each day, we are going to try and give you a quick preview of today’s main slate and any interesting betting angles that we spot. Take a look.

All betting lines and information are from the FanDuel Sportsbook

New York Yankees vs. Chicago White Sox betting breakdown

Yankees (+146), Chicago White Sox (-172)
Total: 9.5 runs
Andrew Heaney (L) vs. Lance Lynn (R)

Three things to know

  • A reminder that this game is in Iowa for the Field of Dreams. The field should play pretty true to form.
  • Andrew Heaney is hard to figure out. He’s whiffing 28.2% of batters, but he has allowed 2.08 HR/9.
  • These teams have both stunk at the plate – over the last month, they rank in the bottom 11 of the league in wOBA.

Best bets: I love the right-handed White Sox bats against Heaney and expect the White Sox to get to him. I’d consider the UNDER, too.

Toronto Blue Jays at Los Angeles Angels betting breakdown

Blue Jays (-136), Angels (+116)
Total: 9.5 runs
José Berríos (R) vs. Shohei Ohtani (R)

Three things to know

  • This will be a fun one – the two likely candidates for AL MVP could be squaring off.
  • The Jays are straight crushing at the plate – they lead the league with a .354 wOBA and .222 ISO.
  • The Angels are the opposite – their .285 WOBA and .130 ISO has been awful.

Best bets: I think this is a low scoring affair – take the UNDER.

San Diego Padres at Arizona Diamondbacks betting breakdown

Padres (-245), Diamondbacks (+205)
Total: 9.0 runs
Yu Darvish (R) vs. Taylor Widener (R)

Three things to know

  • Can the Diamondbacks be this bad? Over the last week they are second worst in team wOBA and have a massive 30.3% strikeout rate.
  • Can Yu right the ship? They will need him to, as he has struggled in recent starts.
  • Even worse has been Taylor Widener – he has been killed by the long ball, allowing 2.15 HR/9 this year.

Best bets: Look for a Jake Cronenworth home run prop, and a same-game parlay is fun, too.

Colorado Rockies at San Francisco Giants betting breakdown

Rockies (+166), Giants (-198)
Total: 7.5 runs
Germán Márquez (R) vs. Logan Webb (R)

Three things to know

  • Numbers can get dicey sometimes – the Giants rank 12th in team WOBA in the last month, but 28th in the last week.
  • Would we give Germán Márquez more credit if he was not a Rockie? His 3.30 FIP is among the league’s best.
  • Logan Webb has been a quiet beast – in the last month, he’s logged a 2.33 ERA and 1.04 WHIP.

Best bets: I like the value here on the underdog Rockies. Go with them.
