One of my favorite things in DFS is the opportunity to try a new outlet. Diversifying where you play is key to building a bankroll. That type of opportunity is exactly what we get today with our new friends at StatHero.

In short, StatHero offers fantasy players two ways to play. A revolutionary DFS Sportsbook, and a fantasy-based survivor pool. The app doesn’t pit players against players, you’re always playing against StatHero. For a more in-depth look at what StatHero has to offer, check out this app review from FTN’s Tyler Loechner and Chris Meaney’s new video breakdown.

Stat Hero NBA picks for tonight

Player prices will fluctuate throughout the day with news, so prices in this article may not reflect what you see on the app when you’re making your lineup in the sportsbook. Make sure you join the #StatHero channel in the FTN Daily Discord. It’s free and you can always tag me with any questions you may have leading up to lock.

Here’s a look at my favorite plays for Wednesday’s slate on StatHero.

StatHero MVP picks (normally $11k and above)

Your MVP will score 1.5x the fantasy points. The pricing on StatHero has been getting much tighter as the real NBA rotations do the same. My two favorite MVP picks Wednesday are the two highest-projected players on the slate in Giannis Antetokounmpo and Trae Young. In the lineup as of this writing, StatHero is using Giannis as their MVP and he costs $2.4k more than Trae. That build forced a more balanced approach in the flex spots so we will attack it with somewhat of a stars and scrubs build with Trae as our MVP. You could make the case for Khris Middleton or Jrue Holiday in the MVP spot but I’m sticking with the top two on this slate.

StatHero flex picks ($6.5-$11k range)

I prefer to get both Middleton and Holiday, who are both priced sub-$10k, in my flex spots. Combining them with Young raises the floor significantly over what StatHero is rolling out. I’m fine if you want to get John Collins in your lineup, but I don’t think his price is economical enough for me personally to lock him into my lineup. I don’t want to risk rostering Bogdan Bogdanovic while he’s dealing with his knee issues, so there’s a decent dip in salaries as we continue down the board. The trio of Brook Lopez, Kevin Huerter and Danillo Gallinari are my main targets at the low end of the midrange.

StatHero sleeper/value picks ($6.4k and below)

With this being the first game of a new series, there are some dirt-cheap prices on players who should re-enter rotations, especially for Milwaukee. You can find both Pat Connaughton and PJ Tucker in this range, who obviously got plenty of time against Brooklyn. But for a bit cheaper, you can also consider Bryn Forbes, who should get a chance to get more involved against Atlanta (at least to start the series). I’m also a fan of Onyeka Okongwu at near minimum price since you have to play a certain number of players from each team on a StatHero showdown.
