PrizePicks for March 4

There are plenty of different props to choose from on PrizePicks, and there’s a lot of money to be made. You can pick your choice of NBA, PGA, MMA, soccer and more. As you’ll see below, I’ll be focusing on the NHL.

Speaking of “PrizePicks,” it is a creative new way to parlay picks based on expected fantasy point production.

The format is simple. You pick two, three or four players and predict whether they will go over or under their projected fantasy point total.

When parlaying the players, the larger your parlay, the better the payout:

  • Two-pick entry pays 2.5x (max entry: $400)
  • Three-pick entry pays 5x (max entry: $200)
  • Four-pick entry pays 10x (max entry: $100)

As a bonus offer, there is a “flex play” option if you choose to run a four-man parlay. This will provide some security, as you can earn 1.5x your buy-in if three of your four picks hit.

Below are my top PrizePicks for Thursday’s slate in the NHL. I will be mixing and matching my pick combinations from the pool below, with my favorite combinations also included.

Scoring breakdown for PrizePicks contests can be found here.

March 4 PrizePicks

NHL

Sean Couturier OVER 4 points

Couturier enters Thursday’s matchup against the Penguins with five goals and 12 points in nine games. He’s currently riding a seven-game point streak and he ranks 10th in points per game (1.33), just behind his linemate James van Riemsdyk (1.37). Couturier took advantage of Sidney Crosby’s absence (out again tonight) on Tuesday as he put seven pucks on goal. His line (with Joel Farabee) finished with a game-high 21 shot attempts, 12 shots, nine scoring chances, three high-danger chances, and two goals at 5v5. Couturier has 16 shots over his past three games so he’s providing a safe floor. If he hits the score sheet we should get there.

Evgeni Malkin OVER 2.5 SOG

With Crosby unavailable, Malkin should flirt with 20 minutes again. Malkin has a history of stepping up his game when Crosby is out, as he usually gets to play with the Pens’ better wingers. He’ll skate alongside Jake Guentzel and Byran Rust again in the rematch. Malkin had three shots and an assist in Tuesday’s 5-2 win. It was his fifth point in his past seven games and the fifth time in his last eight where he’s had at least three shots on goal.
