Colorado Rockies outfield prospect Yanquiel Fernandez went 2-for-3 with two long balls during their contest on Sunday against Triple-A El Paso. This was a much-needed breakout game for Fernandez, as he entered Sunday riding a .059/.150/.059 slash line with just one hit over his last five contests. However, before this slump, Fernandez posted a stellar .333/.375/.700 line with two doubles and three long balls over his previous seven games. Overall through 17 games at Triple-A Albuquerque, Fernandez has held a .213/.300/.492 line. Last summer, Fernandez received his first look at Triple-A and held a modest .211/.268/.313 line through his first 33 games at this level. Fantasy managers should monitor his progression at Triple-A, as he should be in the mix for an MLB debut later this season.

Colorado Rockies outfield prospect Yanquiel Fernandez tallied seven total bases during their contest on Thursday evening. Fernandez went 3-for-5 with a double, a home run, and a single. He tallied three RBI and scored two runs. This outing extended his current hitting streak to four games. During this impressive stretch, Fernandez has launched two home runs and held a .389 AVG with a .944 SLG. However, before this recent surge, the 22-year-old tallied just three hits (one double) during his first seven contests of the campaign. Last summer, Fernandez spent most of his time at Double-A before receiving a brief taste of Triple-A. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor his progression as he should be in the mix for an MLB debut later this season.

The Colorado Rockies optioned outfield prospect Yanquiel Fernandez to Triple-A Albuquerque on Tuesday. The 22-year-old went 7-for-26 (.269) in Cactus League action with one home run and a 2:8 BB:K. Rockies fans will have to wait a bit longer to see how the left-handed hitter's power will play at Coors Field, which, according to MLB.com's Top Prospects list, should be sometime in 2025. The Cuban hit well at Double-A in 2024, slashing .283/.339/.439 with 10 home runs in 89 games, but stumbled when he got his first dose of Triple-A pitching, slashing .211/.268/.313 with two home runs in 33 games. If the Rockies' sixth-ranked prospect can get off to a good start at Triple-A, he could be one of the earlier call-ups this season, and redraft managers should be alert for any news on that front, as his power stroke would get an instant boost in the thin air of Colorado.

Colorado Rockies outfield prospect Yanquiel Fernandez picked up his first hit for Triple-A Albuquerque on Wednesday. The 21-year-old went 1-for-4 in the contest, connecting for a single and RBI. It was his second game with his new team, but he continues to have strong exit velocities off his bat. Fernandez has seen his stock shoot up over the last few seasons for a Rockies system that has been loaded with outfield prospects like Jordan Beck, Benny Montgomery and Zac Veen to name a few. Fernandez has worked on his plate discipline and that has been a big reason for his ascension, but his hard-hitting bat cannot be ignored. Between Double-A and Triple-A this season, Fernandez has hit a combined .280 with 10 homers and 47 RBI. Fernandez should continue to tap into his power and it wouldn't be a surprise to see him in Colorado at some point in 2025. With his upside, dynasty managers should consider adding the outfielder before it is too late.

The Colorado Rockies are promoting outfield prospect Yanquiel Fernandez to Triple-A Hartford. The 21-year-old has spent the entire season at Double-A Hartford, posting an up-and-down season to this point. The Cuban hit .224 in April, .307 in May, .247 in June, and finally .320 in July/August, prompting his promotion. Fernandez finished with a .283/.339/.439 slashline with 10 home runs in 88 games and lowered his K% year-over-year at Double-A from 32.9% to just 19.1%. The Rockies' No. 4 prospect (MLB No. 64) has big-time power and Coors Field should treat him well when he makes it there, which should be sometime next season.
