St. Louis Cardinals outfielder Victor Scott II is absent from the team's starting lineup for the series opener on Monday in Philadelphia against the Phillies at Citizens Bank Park. Jose Barrero draws into the lineup in center field and will bat ninth against Phillies left-hander Cristopher Sanchez. Scott will take a seat against a tough southpaw after he started each of the team's last nine games. The 24-year-old left-handed hitter has batted a strong .290/.357/.403 with two homers, 18 RBI, 20 runs and 11 steals in 142 plate appearances as St. Louis' starting center fielder this year, and he's gone 10-for-28 (.357) with a double, four RBI and a steal in nine games so far in May. Barrero will be a low-upside DFS sleeper out of the nine-hole for the Red Birds on Monday night. The 27-year-old Cuban is hitless in his two career at-bats against Sanchez.

St. Louis Cardinals outfielder Victor Scott II is not in the team's starting lineup for Thursday's series finale against the division-rival Cincinnati Reds. Jose Barrero is drawing the start in center field for the Red Birds and will hit ninth against Reds left-hander Andrew Abbott. After playing both of the wins in the team's doubleheader on Wednesday in Cincy, Scott will get the day off to rest before a three-game weekend series against the New York Mets starts on Friday. As the team's starting center fielder, the 24-year-old has been productive through the first month, slashing .271/.336/.406 with two home runs, 14 RBI, 14 runs scored and 10 stolen bases in 28 games played. DFS managers should be looking to stay away from Barrero in the nine-hole. He has appeared in two games for St. Louis but has yet to record a plate appearance.

St. Louis Cardinals outfielder Victor Scott II is not in the starting lineup on Sunday as the Milwaukee Brewers send out veteran left-hander Jose Quintana in the series' finale. While Scott sits, Brendan Donovan, Lars Nootbaar, and Jordan Walker will occupy the three spots in the outfield. Scott has gone 9-for-33 with two walks, four stolen bases, six runs scored, and three RBI over his last 10 games and is now slashing .264/.323/.379 on the season. Scott remains a viable outfielder in deeper league formats. Next up for Scott and the Cardinals is a four-game series on the road in Cincinnati to take on the Reds.

St. Louis Cardinals outfielder Victor Scott II is out of the starting lineup for Game 2 of the series against the visiting Houston Astros at Busch Stadium on Tuesday. Michael Siani will get the nod in center field and will bat ninth against Astros right-hander Hunter Brown. Scott is St. Louis' primary center fielder, but he'll get a day to rest after going 3-for-17 with six strikeouts in his last five games to drop his season line to .259/.328/.389 with a .717 OPS. The 24-year-old has one homer, seven RBI, seven runs scored and five stolen bases in his first 54 at-bats. Scott should be back in there on Wednesday as he looks to get back on track with the bat. Siani, who has never faced Brown in his career, will be a low-upside DFS play out of the nine-hole on Tuesday. He has gone just 2-for-9 with two runs scored early on in 2025 as a bench player for the Cards.

St. Louis Cardinals outfielder Victor Scott II is out of the starting lineup for Monday's series opener against the division-rival Pittsburgh Pirates at PNC Park. Michael Siani is getting the start in center field and will bat eighth against Pirates right-hander Carmen Mlodzinski. It will be Scott's first game off of the 2025 season after getting off to a hot start this year as the team's primary center fielder. The 24-year-old has gone 9-for-32 (.281) with a home run, five RBI, six runs scored and four stolen bases in nine games played. He should be back in there for fantasy managers in Pittsburgh for the second game of the series. Siani, who hits from the left side, has appeared in eight games this year, but he's only been afforded one plate appearance and is hitless with a run scored. He's also hitless in just three career at-bats against Mlodzinski.
