Los Angeles Dodgers right-hander Tyler Glasnow (elbow) has not started throwing again, according to manager Dave Roberts, and will likely need more than the minimum 15 days he was initially expected to miss when he landed on the injured list. Roberts said the Dodgers aren't concerned at this point and just want Glasnow to "listen to his body" for now. Fantasy managers now cannot count on Glasnow coming off the IL when he's eligible on Aug. 31, but it sounds like the Dodgers expected him back at some point in September. The 30-year-old is tied for the third-best strikeout rate (32.2%) in baseball this year, which makes him worth holding onto in all fantasy leagues, but he may only have a handful of starts left to make an impact, depending on when he's activated and makes his next start. In his first year in LA, Glasnow is 9-6 with a 3.49 ERA, 0.95 WHIP and 168 K's in 134 innings over 22 starts.
Los Angeles Dodgers starting pitcher Tyler Glasnow (elbow) is hopeful to avoid an extended stint on the 15-day injured list. Glasnow hit the injured list on Friday with right elbow tendinitis. Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reported that Glasnow lobbied to start this weekend, but manager Dave Roberts would have been on "pins and needles" watching it. Fantasy managers should pay close attention to any other updates regarding Glasnow, as he could return as soon as his 15-day stint ends. Before the injury, the 30-year-old held a solid 3.49 ERA, 0.95 WHIP, and a 45:168 BB:K ratio through 134 innings of work. He sports an excellent 2.63 xERA and a .197 xBA, which suggests he should enjoy a nice conclusion to the campaign. Glasnow should remain stashed on all rosters and should be placed immediately into your starting lineup when he returns.
Los Angeles Dodgers right-hander Tyler Glasnow (elbow) is heading to the 15-day injured list on Friday with right-elbow tendinitis. The Dodgers recently pushed Glasnow back from his scheduled start on Friday at Busch Stadium against the St. Louis Cardinals to Saturday, and now we know why. The first-time All-Star won't be starting at all this weekend now and is set to miss at least the next two weeks. With the 30-year-old injured, Bobby Miller, who has an ERA over 8.00 in his seven starts for the Dodgers this year, will most likely rejoin the big-league roster and start in place of Glasnow on Saturday. Glasnow is tied for third among all starting pitchers with a 32.2% strikeout rate in his first year in Hollywood and has also gone 9-6 with a 3.49 ERA, a league-best 0.95 WHIP and a career-high 168 strikeouts in 134 innings over 22 starts. Keep him stashed in all fantasy formats while he recovers.
Los Angeles Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said that right-hander Tyler Glasnow's next start will be pushed back to Saturday in St. Louis against the Cardinals. It means that the Dodgers will likely call up a starter from Triple-A Oklahoma City (possibly rookie left-hander Justin Wrobleski) to make the start in Friday's series opener at Busch Stadium. It doesn't appear that Glasnow is dealing with any kind of injury, but the Dodgers have decided to push him back a day to give him a little extra rest. He allowed only two earned runs in seven innings against the Pirates in his last start on Aug. 11, but Glasnow has struggled to a 5.29 ERA (3.65 FIP) with 33 strikeouts and 10 walks in 34 innings in his last six starts since June 29. The 30-year-old still has a 32.2% strikeout rate in his first year in LA and should be left in starting fantasy lineups this weekend.
Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Tyler Glasnow was excellent again on Sunday as his team beat the Pittsburgh Pirates 6-5. Glasnow gave up two runs on five hits, walked one batter, and struck out four over seven innings. He did not factor into the decision. This was Glasnow's third quality start in a row and 14th of the season. This recent hot streak has brought his ERA down to 3.49 and his WHIP down to 0.95 in 2024. The Dodgers ace will look to keep his hot streak going Friday on the road against the St. Louis Cardinals.
