Cecconi was scratched from his scheduled outing on Wednesday in the series finale against the Los Angeles Dodgers, and now he'll get a much more favorable matchup this weekend in what will be just his third start of the season. The 25-year-old former first-rounder (33rd overall) by the Arizona Diamondbacks in 2020 out of Miami opened the season on the injured list with an oblique strain, but he's now a member of Cleveland's starting rotation and has been solid so far with a 3.27 ERA, 1.09 WHIP and 14 punchouts in 11 innings pitched. The Angels rank 17th in the league with a .693 OPS, making Cecconi a prime streaming candidate despite his recent groin injury that wasn't very serious.

His 18.7% strikeout rate in two MLB seasons leaves plenty to be desired. Cecconi had a 6.66 ERA and 1.42 WHIP in 20 outings (13 starts) for Arizona in 2024.
