Texas Rangers right-hander Nathan Eovaldi (triceps) recently returned to Arlington for further diagnostics. He has been playing catch over the last few days, and the club hopes he'll throw a bullpen session sometime Saturday or Sunday. His rehab appears to be progressing as expected. Eovaldi was removed from his start on May 27 with the injury, and considering the location of the injury, this is positive news coming from the Rangers' clubhouse, as Eovaldi seems to be moving in the right direction and possibly could return to the mound in the next couple of weeks after a few bullpens. At this point, it's unclear if the Rangers will have him make a rehab start in the minors or not. Fantasy managers will want to keep tabs on how his bullpen goes over the weekend.

Texas Rangers right-hander Nathan Eovaldi (triceps) took a step in the right direction on Wednesday by playing catch, according to DLLS Sports' Jeff Wilson. The Rangers are still unsure when Eovaldi will return from the 15-day injured list, though. He is eligible to come back this Friday, but that isn't going to happen since he hasn't gotten back on a mound yet following a right-triceps injury that put him on the shelf on May 29. In the meantime, Jacob Latz could remain in Texas' starting rotation. The 35-year-old should remain stashed in all fantasy formats, and hopefully he'll be able to return from the IL before the end of June. In his first 12 starts of the year in 2025, Eovaldi had gone 4-3 with a 1.56 ERA (2.32 FIP) and league-best 0.81 WHIP with 73 strikeouts and 10 walks in 69 1/3 innings pitched. He should remain a high-floor fantasy starter whenever he returns.

Texas Rangers right-hander Nathan Eovaldi (triceps) is in Arlington to undergo further diagnostic testing on his injured triceps, manager Bruce Bochy announced. The Rangers expect Eovaldi to throw a bullpen session this weekend. Eovaldi went on the 15-day IL with tightness in his triceps on June 1 (retroactive to May 29), derailing a fantastic start to the season for the 35-year-old. He stormed out of the gates with 69 1/3 innings of 1.56 ERA ball (3.37 xERA) and 73 strikeouts against a meager 10 walks before his IL stint. While it's unknown when Eovaldi will return, the Rangers have suggested his IL placement was precautionary. If that's the case, he could be back in their rotation soon.

The Texas Rangers are placing right-hander Nathan Eovaldi (triceps) on the 15-day injured list on Sunday with a right-triceps injury and are calling up right-hander Codi Heuer from the minors in a corresponding move. Additionally, the club designated catcher Tucker Barnhart for assignment. The Rangers were hoping to just push Eovaldi back after he experienced fatigue in his triceps muscle after his last outing on Tuesday, but the 35-year-old veteran will now have to miss at least the next two weeks. Eovaldi doesn't have any structural damage in his right arm, though, so the team is optimistic he'll be ready to return when he's eligible in mid-June. In the meantime, rookie right-hander Kumar Rocker (shoulder) figures to come off the IL and start in Eovaldi's place on Wednesday against the Tampa Bay Rays. Eovaldi has been strong for Texas so far in 2025 and should be stashed in fantasy leagues while he's on the shelf.

Texas Rangers manager Bruce Bochy said that the team is going to push right-hander Nathan Eovaldi's (triceps) next start back a few days. Eovaldi is scheduled to go next on Tuesday in Tampa against the Rays, but the team has a scheduled day off on Monday, allowing others to pitch on regular rest. The 35-year-old veteran will now most likely make his next start next weekend versus the Washington Nationals in a good matchup for fantasy managers. Eovaldi left his last start early last Saturday against the Toronto Blue Jays due to triceps soreness. He'll certainly be more risky in fantasy lineups his next time out coming off the injury, but he's been excellent so far in 2025, not allowing more than three earned runs in any of his 12 starts. The two-time All-Star currently holds a pristine 1.56 ERA and 0.81 WHIP with 73 punchouts and only 10 walks in 69 1/3 innings pitched.
