Chicago White Sox general manager Chris Getz said that outfielder Mike Tauchman (hamstring) has been diagnosed with a Grade 2 right-hamstring strain and will likely be out for a "couple weeks." Tauchman was placed on the 10-day injured list on Thursday for already the second time this year, but this time the White Sox will give him more time to heal up. The 34-year-old left-handed-hitting veteran should return in at least the strong side of a platoon in left field for Chicago when he's cleared, but he should be expected to miss the rest of April. Despite his bum hamstring, Tauchman went 4-for-10 with a run scored in his first three games with the Pale Hose. In the meantime, expect the White Sox to try several players in left field, including Austin Slater, Brooks Baldwin, Joshua Palacios and Michael Taylor. Taylor is in left and is batting sixth on Friday against the Boston Red Sox.

The Chicago White Sox announced on Thursday that they placed outfielder Mike Tauchman (hamstring) on the 10-day injured list due to a right-hamstring strain and recalled outfielder Joshua Palacios from Triple-A Charlotte in a corresponding move. The team also released right-hander Juan Carela. It will be Tauchman's second trip to the IL already this year after beginning the regular season on the shelf due to a right-hamstring strain that he initially suffered in spring training. The 34-year-old veteran returned from the IL on Sunday but quicky aggravated the injury while running the bases on Wednesday and will be forced to miss more time. It's likely that he'll be forced to miss more than 10 days to let his hamstring fully recover. Brooks Baldwin is making the start in left field for Chicago on Thursday against the Guardians, but Michael Taylor and Palacios will also be options there for however long Tauchman is out.

Chicago White Sox outfielder Mike Tauchman (hamstring) only made it through three games before suffering another injury. Tauchman had a good day at the plate as he went 3-for-4 with three singles during Wednesday's game against the Cleveland Guardians. Sadly, Tauchman pulled his hamstring when he was coming around third base as the tying run in the ninth inning. For now, Tauchman is considered as day-to-day, but it wouldn't be shocking if he ends up on the injured list. His absence could mean more playing time for Austin Slater or Michael A. Taylor in the corner outfield.

Chicago White Sox outfielder Mike Tauchman (hamstring) was activated off the injured list on Sunday and will be given the starting nod in right field in their contest against the Detroit Tigers. Tauchman will bat in the leadoff spot. The 34-year-old suffered this injury during spring training and is set to make his White Sox debut this afternoon. Tauchman has spent the past two seasons playing for the Chicago Cubs. Last season, Tauchman appeared in 109 contests for the Cubs and posted a .248/.357/.366 slash line with 12 doubles and seven round-trippers. He tallied 29 RBI and scored 50 runs. He drew walks at an elite 13.4 percent rate, which is likely why the White Sox are providing him the opportunity to bat at the top of the order. He is worth a look in DFS as a value play facing rookie right-hander Jackson Jobe, who struggled in his first start of the campaign.

Chicago White Sox outfielder Mike Tauchman (hamstring) began his rehab assignment in Triple-A Charlotte, reports Scott Merkin of MLB.com. He suffered a strained hamstring during spring training but is eligible to be activated off of the injured list on Friday. He slashed .248/.357/.366 with seven home runs and six stolen bases in 109 games for the Cubs in 2024. While he's not the most exciting player for fantasy, he should see a lot of playing time for the White Sox and should deliver a high OBP. He posted a 13.4% walk rate (98th percentile) last season, so he could be useful in deep AL-only formats.
