Athletics rookie shortstop Jacob Wilson continued his eye-opening start to the season Sunday with a three-hit game in a 5-4 win over the Philadelphia Phillies. The 23-year-old led off the bottom of the first with a 420-foot bomb against Phillies left-hander Jesus Luzardo. Wilson later chipped in a pair of singles to finish 3-for-4. It was his second straight three-hit game and fifth multi-hit effort over his last seven contests. Wilson, who rarely strikes out or walks (he has a K:BB of 11:12), ranks near the top of the league in contact rate. His unique approach has paid significant dividends so far in 2025, as he's off to a .350/.393/.495 start with six homers and 28 RBI in 215 plate appearances. He'll try to keep it going in his next game on Tuesday against Houston Astros ace right-hander Hunter Brown.

Athletics rookie shortstop Jacob Wilson (forearm) is back at the 6 and is hitting second for Thursday's series finale against the division-rival Los Angeles Angels and left-hander Tyler Anderson as they look to avoid a four-game sweep in Sacramento. Wilson was pulled from Tuesday's loss against the Angels after being hit by a pitch on his left forearm. The impressive 23-year-old was held out on Wednesday, but he has now returned and should be put back in starting fantasy lineups. The former sixth overall pick in 2023 out of Grand Canyon University has not looked like a rookie in 2025, slashing .341/.381/.478 with an .859 OPS, five home runs, 26 RBI, 26 runs scored and four stolen bases in his first 47 games this year. Wilson's .341 average ranks third in all of baseball, and he's hitting .367 (11-for-30) against southpaws in 2025.

Athletics shortstop Jacob Wilson (forearm) left Tuesday's game against the Angels in the bottom of the fifth inning with a left-forearm contusion, per MLB.com's Martin Gallegos. Wilson was hit by a Kyle Hendricks pitch in the third inning. He stayed in the game but was pinch-hit for by Max Schuemann in the fifth inning. Fantasy managers should look for further news after the game, but the fact that he was able to stay in the game temporarily may mean he avoided anything serious. The 23-year-old is having a great offensive season so far, slashing .341/.381/.478 with five home runs, 26 RBI, and four stolen bases in 195 plate appearances.

Athletics shortstop Jacob Wilson stayed red-hot at the plate in his team's 11-1 win over the Los Angeles Dodgers on Tuesday. Wilson went 4-for-5 with two homers, two runs, and four RBI to help power his team to the win. The game goes down as the first multi-homer game of the rookie's career. Wilson is impressing thus far this season, hitting .363 with five homers, 24 runs, 26 RBI, and two steals across 160 at-bats. He is hitting a blistering .484 with two homers and nine RBI over his past seven games as he makes an early case for Rookie of the Year in the American League. Wilson should be locked into fantasy lineups moving forward.

Athletics shortstop prospect Jacob Wilson continued to impress at the plate during Monday evening's victory over the Seattle Mariners. In this game, Wilson went 3-for-6 with three RBI. He hit a game-tying RBI single in the 10th inning, which scored outfielder JJ Bleday. Later in the 11th, Wilson would tally the game-winning RBI single, which scored first baseman/outfielder Tyler Soderstrom. This was also Wilson's third-straight game tallying at least two hits. Over his last 10 contests, the former sixth overall pick has posted an impressive .366/.422/.439 slash line. However, during this stretch, he hit just one extra-base hit (a home run). Through his first 34 games this season, the rookie shortstop has continued to flash upside, posting a .341/.364/.452 slash line. He will look to stay hot on Tuesday, facing Seattle right-hander Emerson Hancock.
