Milwaukee Brewers right-hander Freddy Peralta confirmed on Sunday his plans to drop his five-game suspension for intentionally throwing at Tampa Bay Rays outfielder Jose Siri last Tuesday. Peralta will start serving his suspension on Monday and will be eligible to make his next start on Saturday against the division-rival St. Louis Cardinals. The 27-year-old took his first loss of the year against the Chicago Cubs on Sunday by allowing three earned runs on three hits while walking a season-high six and striking out five in five innings. Despite the loss, Peralta has still had a successful season to this point with a 3.49 ERA and 0.98 WHIP with 50 strikeouts in 38 2/3 frames over his first seven starts. Fantasy managers will want to get him back in their lineups for his next matchup with St. Louis this weekend.
After the Milwaukee Brewers' benches-clearing brawl against the Tampa Bay Rays on Tuesday, pitchers Freddy Peralta (five games) and Abner Uribe (six games) and manager Pat Murphy (two games) have been suspended. Both Peralta and Uribe are appealing their suspensions and won't have to sit out immediately for the series finale against Tampa on Wednesday. Peralta is being suspended for intentionally throwing at Rays outfielder Jose Siri. The 27-year-old was ejected as a result. Since he's appealing, he should be able to make his next scheduled start on Sunday versus the Chicago Cubs. Uribe incited the benches-clearing incident when he threw a punch at Siri after he grounded out in the eighth inning. The 23-year-old reliever has three saves on the year but also a 6.75 ERA and 1.80 WHIP in 13 appearances for Milwaukee.
Milwaukee Brewers starting pitcher Freddy Peralta threw 5 1/3 innings of two-run ball with one hit and seven punchouts in Tuesday's victory over the Tampa Bay Rays. Peralta surrendered his first hit of the night in the third inning off a solo shot by Jose Siri. Peralta now sports a 3.21 ERA and a stunning 0.86 WHIP across 33 2/3 innings with 45 strikeouts. The 27-year-old remains an excellent starting pitcher and an elite contributor to your fantasy team's WHIP. He is scheduled to face the Kansas City Royals at Kauffman Stadium on Monday, May 6, in his next start.
Milwaukee Brewers starting pitcher Freddy Peralta surrendered five runs on five hits across 4 2/3 innings of work during Thursday's 7-5 win over the Pittsburgh Pirates. He struck out five batters and allowed a season-high five walks in the no-decision. It was not the sharpest outing for the 27-year-old, who saw his season ERA balloon from 1.90 to 3.18 with the performance. Peralta remains one of the premier arms in fantasy baseball and today's outing was merely a blip on the radar. He should still be confidently started in all formats going into his next projected outing against the Tampa Bay Rays.
Milwaukee Brewers starting pitcher Freddy Peralta is settling in nicely to his new role as the team's ace ahead of Thursday's road start against the division-rival Cincinnati Reds. After allowing 12 runs in 15 innings of spring training, Peralta has totaled a 3.09 ERA (2.80 FIP), 0.60 WHIP, and 15:2 K:BB over his first 11 2/3 innings of the regular season. In five appearances (24 2/3 IP) against the Reds since 2022, the 27-year-old All-Star right-hander is 3-0 with a sublime 1.46 ERA and 37:6 K:BB. Peralta has thrown 14 consecutive scoreless innings against Cincy during this stretch, and the current Reds roster is a collective 6-for-40 with just two extra-base hits against Peralta. He should be treated as one of the premier fantasy plays across all formats on Thursday's seven-game slate.
