Colorado Rockies outfielder Charlie Blackmon went 2-for-6 with a walk and two-run home run in Monday's victory versus the Boston Red Sox. The veteran continues to be productive at the top of the Rockies order and is hitting .253 on the season to go along with seven homers, 34 RBI and five stolen bases in 281 at-bats. The 38-year-old isn't the All-Star that he once was, but could be a trade candidate for contending teams that looking for a left-handed bat. However, the Rockies have held onto such stars in the past and it remains to be seen if the lifelong Rockie would be willing to part ways, should an opportunity occur. Regardless, Blackmon makes for a good stream when at Coors Field, but can be left on the bench or waiver wire when on the road.

Colorado Rockies outfielder/designated hitter Charlie Blackmon (hamstring) has returned to the starting lineup for Friday's series opener versus the hosting New York Mets and left-hander Sean Manaea, serving as the DH and hitting leadoff. Blackmon tweaked his right hamstring while making a diving catch on Monday and missed the last three games as a result. But despite a left-hander being on the mound, the 38-year-old lefty hitter is back in action and hitting atop the lineup in the Big Apple. He could be a nice DFS sleeper on Friday, too, as he has a .357 career average and 1.114 OPS in 14 at-bats against Manaea. Blackmon, a four-time All-Star, is no longer a must-start fantasy outfielder these days and comes into Friday's contest hitting .256/.325/.402 with only four home runs, 29 RBI and five steals in 71 games this year.

Colorado Rockies outfielder Charlie Blackmon (hamstring) will miss his third straight game in Thursday's series finale against the hosting Cincinnati Reds, and now we know why. Manager Bud Black said Blackmon "tweaked" his right hamstring making an awkward sliding catch during the series opener on Monday. Black had planned a day off for Blackmon on Tuesday against a left-handed pitcher, but he wanted to start him in the final two games of the series. Blackmon checked out well while running on the field before Wednesday's game and was available for pinch-hitting duties, but he'll miss one more day as a precaution. With Blackmon out again on Thursday, Jake Cave is starting in right field and batting fifth, with Sam Hilliard, who hit two homers on Wednesday, playing left field and batting ninth. Nolan Jones will serve as the designated hitter and bat seventh against Reds right-hander Hunter Greene.

Blackmon was out on Tuesday against left-hander Nick Lodolo and will miss his second straight game. There's been no word of an injury for the 38-year-old veteran, but we'll keep a close eye on the situation. Brenton Doyle, who had two homers in Tuesday night's loss, will serve as the designated hitter and bat fifth, while Sam Hilliard starts in center field and hits in the nine-hole for the Rockies. Perhaps the Rockies are just giving Blackmon a little more rest with the All-Star break looming next week. Since June 18, he's gone 6-for-32 (.188) with a homer, two doubles, three RBI and nine strikeouts in 10 games played.

Jacob Stallings is doing the catching and batting sixth. The 38-year-old veteran left-handed-hitting outfielder is actually batting .309 (17-for-55) against lefties in 2024, but none of his four home runs have come against them. Blackmon will get a breather after hitting just .188/.235/.344 with a homer, three RBI and nine strikeouts in nine games played over the last 14 days. Goodman and Diaz have never faced Lodolo in their careers, while Stallings has a hit in his only career at-bat versus Lodolo.
