Arizona Diamondbacks right-hander Brandon Pfaadt (6-2) was solid Thursday evening against a red-hot Los Angeles Dodgers offense. Through 6 innings, he only allowed four hits, three walks, and struck out six batters. It was an excellent rebound for Pfaadt, who was tagged for six earned runs in his previous start against the Philadelphia Phillies. This outing lowered his season ERA to 3.28. The three walks were unusual for Pfaadt, as so far in 2025, he ranks in the 85th percentile in walks allowed (5.1 percent), so look for him to clean that up in his next outing, which is tentatively lined up in San Francisco next Tuesday to take on the another division opponent, the Giants. This will be another tough outing for Pfaadt, as the Giants are solid against right-handed pitchers (.243/.326/.396) and rank ninth in the MLB in runs scored. Still, Pfaadt has earned the opportunity to be matchup-proof for his fantasy managers in 2025.

Arizona Diamondbacks starting pitcher Brandon Pfaadt tossed six innings of one-run ball en route to earning the victory over the Tampa Bay Rays on Tuesday evening. Pfaadt allowed just four hits and walks. He struck out five batters. His lone blemish came in the second frame when outfielder Jake Mangum would hit an RBI single to center field, which scored Kameron Misner. This is another impressive outing for Pfaadt. Over his last three starts, the 26-year-old has logged 17 2/3 innings to the tune of a stellar 1.02 ERA and a 0.96 WHIP. During this stretch, he has allowed just four free passes, but has only struck out 14 batters. In his first two starts of the season, he posted a modest 5.25 ERA with a 1.08 WHIP. Given his recent stretch of performances, he remains a strong play in all standard formats in his next scheduled start against the Atlanta Braves.

Arizona Diamondbacks starting pitcher Brandon Pfaadt was solid on Wednesday, allowing one run over 5 innings in a 6-2 win over the Marlins. He allowed five hits and two walks while striking out six. He finished one out shy of making this his fourth consecutive six-inning outing to begin the year, and he now holds a solid 3.04 ERA. It was nice to see his strikeouts back, as he had only 12 in 18 innings through his first three starts. He'll look to keep things rolling in his next time out, currently set to be against the Rays.

Arizona Diamondbacks right-hander Brandon Pfaadt improved his record to 2-1 in a 9-0 win over the Baltimore Orioles on Wednesday. Pfaadt tossed six scoreless innings, scattering four hits while walking two and striking out three to earn the win for his team. The veteran hurler is off to a solid start in 2025, posting a 3.50 ERA, 1.06 WHIP, and 12 strikeouts over 18 innings of work thus far. Pfaadt is likely to make his next start against the Miami Marlins next week.

The Arizona Diamondbacks announced on Friday that they signed right-hander Brandon Pfaadt to an undisclosed five-year contract extension from 2026-30 with a club option for 2031 and a mutual option for the 2032 season. Pfaadt was previously set to hit free agency after the 2029 season. The D-backs are locking in one or their best young arms and buying out all of his arbitration years. The 26-year-old former fifth-round pick in 2020 out of Bellarmine University made his major-league debut in 2023 and has gone 14-19 with a 5.06 ERA (4.15 FIP) and 1.29 WHIP with 279 strikeouts and 68 walks in 277 2/3 innings over 51 appearances (50 starts) in his first two MLB seasons in the desert. On the surface, he disappointed with a 4.71 ERA in 32 starts in 2024, but he was a bit unlucky while improving both his strikeout and walk rates. Fantasy managers are hoping for a step forward in 2025.
