Boston Red Sox third baseman Alex Bregman had an excellent game before heading for paternity leave in Tuesday's 7-4 win over the Rays. Bregman went 5-for-5 with two singles, a double, a pair of solo home runs, and four RBI. The 31-year-old lined a third-inning Ryan Pepiot pitch over the right-field wall and later took Hunter Bigge deep to right-center field in the seventh inning. Bregman has had a stellar start to his Red Sox tenure after signing a three-year, $120 million deal this offseason, slashing .321/.365/.564 with four HR, 16 RBI, and a stolen base in 85 plate appearances. The Red Sox's offense has been erratic overall, but Bregman should have plenty of opportunities to provide fantasy value while hitting third in the lineup.

Boston Red Sox third baseman Alex Bregman had himself a day on Sunday during their doubleheader against the St. Louis Cardinals. In Game two, which was on Sunday Night Baseball, Bregman went 4-for-5 with six RBI, two runs scored, and a home run. The home run came in the third inning with two-on and two-out to put the Red Sox comfortably ahead by nine runs. The Red Sox won the game 18-7 and put on a clinic on how to hit the baseball, led by the new acquisition, Bregman, with his team-high six RBI on the evening. Bregman is liking his new environment, slashing .341/.383/.591 through the team's first 10 games. The Red Sox will look to keep it rolling as they start a four-game series with the Toronto Blue Jays on Monday.

Boston Red Sox third baseman Alex Bregman had a big day on Thursday in the 8-4 win over the division-rival Baltimore Orioles at Camden Yards, going 3-for-5 with a two-run home run, two doubles, three RBI, two runs scored and two strikeouts. Bregman broke out in this one with his first three extra-base hits in his first year with Boston. The 31-year-old veteran hit his first homer of the year in the first inning off veteran right-hander Charlie Morton and later added two doubles. The two-time All-Star came into Thursday's contest with six hits in his first 27 plate appearances with one walk and six strikeouts. Fantasy managers have to be happy to see him break out for his first big game of 2025, and they'll be hoping he can keep it going this weekend for a series at Fenway Park against the St. Louis Cardinals.

Boston Red Sox third baseman Alex Bregman said he used a torpedo bat in the batting cages and on the field during batting practice on Wednesday before the game in Baltimore against the division-rival Orioles, but he's unsure yet if he'll use it in the game. Bregman is batting third against Orioles right-hander Zach Eflin. The 31-year-old veteran could be looking to get his bat going early on in his first year in Boston after a number of high-profile MLB players have seen rousing success, especially in the power department, while using torpedo bats so far this season. In his first five contests with the BoSox heading into Wednesday's contest, Bregman has gone 5-for-22 with a stolen base, one walk and five strikeouts in 23 plate appearances. If Bregman does start using the torpedo bat in games, fantasy managers will be hoping it will lead to more power for the two-time All-Star.

The Athletic's Jen McCaffrey writes that it seems increasingly likely that Boston Red Sox third baseman Alex Bregman will begin the season the team's third baseman, and Rafael Devers (shoulders) will start at designated hitter. However, manager Alex Cora has refused to address the situation. It also makes sense with Masataka Yoshida likely to begin the year on the injured list after having offseason shoulder surgery. Bregman hasn't played second base at all this spring, and Devers has yet to play in a Grapefruit League game. With Bregman likely to start at the hot corner in his first year in Beantown, prospect Kristian Campbell, Vaughn Grissom and David Hamilton are all competing for playing time at second base. Campbell has the most fantasy upside, both short- and long-term.
