George Kirby Continues To Struggle

Seattle Mariners starting pitcher George Kirby put up his second straight underwhelming start on Tuesday versus the Toronto Blue Jays. Over four innings, Kirby allowed eight hits and five runs. The good news is that his command was there with no walks, but he only struck out three on the evening. Kirby entered the season as a potential Top-10 option and managers will want to remain patient this early in the season. Looking forward, Kirby will look to get back on track versus the Cincinnati Reds on Monday.

Mason Miller Earns First Save Of Season Tuesday

Oakland Athletics relief pitcher Mason Miller picked up his first save of the season in Tuesday's 4-3 win over the Rangers. Miller came in to pitch the bottom of the ninth inning up by one and turned in a 1-2-3- outing with two strikeouts. The electric 25-year-old has looked solid out of the bullpen this season with a 3.00 ERA, 10 strikeouts, and three walks in six innings pitched. The A's likely will not offer a ton of save opportunities, but Miller has the best stuff in the team's bullpen and will hopefully see plenty of high-leverage situations throughout the season. His high strikeout upside and ability to pitch multiple innings should provide fantasy value despite limited save opportunities.

Yordan Alvarez Collects Four Hits Tuesday

Houston Astros outfielder/designated hitter Yordan Alvarez had another solid game at the plate in Tuesday's 4-3 extra-inning loss to the Royals. Alvarez went 4-for-5 with three singles, a double, and two RBI. The 26-year-old has picked things up after stumbling early and is now slashing .347/.407/.653 with four home runs, nine runs scored, and 11 RBI in 54 plate appearances. He is on pace to deliver top-tier fantasy production once again.

Shea Langeliers Belts Three Homers Tuesday

Oakland Athletics catcher Shea Langeliers put his team's offense on his shoulders in Tuesday's 4-3 win over the Rangers. Langeliers went 3-for-4 with two solo home runs, a two-run HR, and a strikeout. The strong performance raised the 26-year-old's season slash line to .250/.306/.625 with four HR and seven RBI over 36 plate appearances. Fantasy managers may want to see more consistency from Langeliers before trusting him in shallower leagues, but the former top prospect could be kickstarting a useful offensive season.

Hunter Harvey Pulled After Taking Comebacker Off His Forearm

Washington Nationals right-handed reliever Hunter Harvey (forearm) was pulled from his outing in the eighth inning on Tuesday night when he was struck in the left forearm/wrist area by a comebacker off the bat of San Francisco Giants outfielder Mike Yastrzemski. Despite only getting two outs in the inning while allowing a hit and striking out one, Harvey was able to pick up his fourth hold of the season before Kyle Finnegan came in for 1 1/3 frames to lock down his fourth save of the 2024 campaign. The 29-year-old was in obvious pain and will probably undergo an X-ray on his arm, but the good news is that the injury was to his non-throwing arm. For holds alone, Harvey is worth rostering in fantasy baseball leagues, but if Finnegan falters at all this year, he'll be the first in line for save chances in D.C. If he's forced to miss time after Tuesday's injury, Tanner Rainey would become the team's primary setup man.
