Kris Bryant In Cleanup Spot Monday

Colorado Rockies outfielder Kris Bryant is playing first base and batting cleanup in the first game of the series versus the Chicago Cubs and left-hander Shota Imanaga on Monday. Bryant hit in the two-hole for the Rockies in the first three games of the season before getting Sunday's series finale against the Arizona Diamondbacks off. The Rockies will try the former National League MVP in the cleanup spot as they attempt to get their offense going. Second baseman Brendan Rodgers will move from cleanup to No. 2 in the order. It's hard to recommend Bryant in any fantasy format right now, as he's opened the season up going 0-for-12 with seven strikeouts.

Gavin Sheets Making First Start Of The Year

With Chicago White Sox outfielder Eloy Jimenez (groin) out of action on Monday against the Atlanta Braves, outfielder Gavin Sheets will make his first start of the season for the White Sox. Sheets is serving as the designated hitter and batting fifth versus Braves right-hander Charlie Morton. Jimenez is likely to land on the injured list with his injury, so Sheets figures to see more playing time moving forward, at least against right-handed pitching. The left-handed-hitting Sheets is hitless in two at-bats with a strikeout to begin the 2024 regular season. The 27-year-old showed promise in his rookie campaign in 2021 but has been dismal at the plate the last two years. If Sheets doesn't improve in Year 4 in Chicago, he might not stick around for long.

Overall, the veteran is slashing .276/.375/.643 with one home run, four RBI, and four runs scored across four games in 2024. Toronto's lineup is stacked, and the veteran could become a league winner if he continues to produce. Turner and the Jays will next face the Astros for a three-game set, starting with facingRonel Blanco. He is a must-start for the upcoming week while wielding a hot bat.

Jazz Chisholm Jr. Hits Grand Slam In Loss To Pirates

Miami Marlins center fielderJazz Chisholm Jr.went 1-for-4 with a grand slam in Sunday's 9-7 loss against the Pittsburgh Pirates. With the bases loaded, he took Pirates starter Bailey Falter deep in the first inning for his first home run in 2024. The 26-year-old is hitting just .143 (2-for-14) for the season with a .762 OPS through four games. Chisholm and his five-tool potential will look to build on Sunday's performance when the Marlins face the Los Angeles Angels in a plus matchup on Monday. Fantasy managers should continue to roll with Chisholm in all league formats.

Vinnie Pasquantino Off To Slow Start In 2024

After missing most of the 2023 season due to a shoulder injury, Kansas City Royals first baseman Vinnie Pasquantino has gotten off to a slow start in 2024. He has only one hit in 11 at-bats (1-for-11) and is slashing .091/.231/.091 over three games. Pasquantino will look to rebound this week against an awful White Sox team just swept by the Tigers. The 26-year-old is worth starting in all formats in a plus matchup versus Chicago, especially in OBP leagues. As long as Pasquantino is healthy, he is expected to be a four-category player and should be starting for your team in the long term.
