Boston Red Sox outfielder Masataka Yoshida (rest) is out of the starting lineup ahead of Tuesday's game against the Oakland Athletics. This appears to be a routine rest day for Yoshida who has been off to a rough start at the plate. Currently, Yoshida is batting .211 with two RBI in five games. The hope is that a night off will help Yoshida get back on track. In his absence, Triston Casas will serve as the designated hitter and bat sixth versus left-hander Alex Wood on Tuesday.

St. Louis Cardinals outfielder Lars Nootbaar (ribs) will begin a minor-league rehab assignment on Tuesday. The left-handed outfielder will draw the start in center field for Tuesday's game with Triple-A Memphis. The 26-year-old is working his way back from two fractures in his ribcage that has sidelined him since early March. The expectation is that Nootbaar is going to need at least a handful of games before returning to the Cardinals lineup. It's uncertain who will get sent down in a corresponding move, but it'll likely be youngster Victor Scott.

Colorado Rockies outfield prospect Jordan Beck starred at the University of Tennessee and has continued to produce in the Rockies' system. The 22-year-old is a four-tool player whose biggest deficiency is his limited contact skills. He has improved his ability to read the strike zone over time but still struggles with strikeouts, of which he accumulated 142 over 126 games last year. With that said, there's no denying that his power will play quite well at Coors Field. He also has above-average baserunning and defensive skills. The 38th overall pick from 2022 wasted no time making an impact this season. With the Rockies' Triple-A affiliate in Albuquerque, Beck has gone 5-for-12 with two homers, six RBI, two walks, and five strikeouts. He should start making contributions at the big league level in 2025.

Pittsburgh Pirates starting pitcher Quinn Priester no longer has true prospect eligibility by MLB's standards, but he should be viewed as one given that he is 23 years old, still in Triple-A, and has 10 big league appearances under his belt. The right-hander gets good velocity behind his mid-90s heater and misses plenty of bats with his curveball. Priester appeared in the big league portion of Spring Training but reverted to the Triple-A roster for Opening Day. In his first outing of the campaign, he lasted 5.2 innings, allowing just one run, one hit, and one walk while striking out nine batters. He figures to be a long-term contributor for Pittsburgh.

Los Angeles Dodgers relief pitcher Ryan Brasier will take the ball as the opener for Tuesday's game against the San Francisco Giants. The right-hander will get the starting nod in what appears to be a bullpen game for the Dodgers. The expectation is that Brasier will pitch one or two innings before handing it off to the rest of the pen. Ryan Yarbrough and Michael Grove figure to pitch the bulk of the innings on Tuesday. This is a situation to be avoided by fantasy managers.
