Mookie Betts Drives In Four In Win

Los Angeles Dodgers shortstop Mookie Betts went 2-for-4 with a triple and four RBI in his team's 12-7 win over the Miami Marlins. That marks back-to-back multi-hit efforts for the fantasy stalwart, as he's currently riding a four-game hit and RBI streak. Betts' average exit velocity (87.8 MPH) and hard-hit rate (30.3%) are down a few ticks from what he usually sees. However, that isn't to say he's been unproductive. The 32-year-old is slashing a solid .250/.339/.407 with four home runs, three doubles, 19 RBI, and 19 runs scored. Furthermore, he's dropped his strikeout rate yet again to a microscopic 8.1%. While it'd be nice to see some more power out of him, he should continue to be an RBI and run-scoring machine nestled in between teammates Shohei Ohtani and Freddie Freeman in the lineup. Betts' average should come around soon.

Randy Arozarena Connects On Fifth Homer Of The Season

Seattle Mariners outfielder Randy Arozarena smashed a solo home run in the second inning of the Mariners' 9-3 home win over the Angels on Wednesday. He went 2-for-4 with two runs scored and two strikeouts. After a slow start to the season, Arozarena's batting average is on the rise, although it's still just .208 on the season. Over his last 12 games, he has gone 12-for-47 (.255) with two doubles, two home runs, and a .372 wOBA. In addition to his power, Arozarena brings some stolen base potential with three thefts in those 12 games, and he is a perfect 8-for-8 in stolen base attempts on the season. He and the Mariners are on the road in Texas for a divisional series against the Rangers this weekend, and Arozarena can continue to be deployed as he normally would be now that he's back on track.

Ryan Thompson Earns His First Save Of The Season

Arizona Diamondbacks relief pitcher Ryan Thompson closed out a wild win for the Diamondbacks on Wednesday night. He came into a 4-2 game with one out and two runners on in the ninth inning after Justin Martinez gave up a home run and issued back-to-back walks. Thompson hit Pete Alonso with a pitch to load the bases, but he struck out Mark Vientos and got Jesse Winker on an RBI ground out before issuing an intentional walk to Jeff McNeil. With the bases loaded again, Thompson got Francisco Alvarez to ground out to third to end the game. He needed 21 pitches to complete his adventure, earning his first save of the year to go with three holds. He has a 4.26 ERA, 3.87 FIP, and 8.5 K/9 in his 12 2/3 innings. Martinez will likely get most of the save chances in Arizona if healthy, but if last night was a sign of a bigger issue, Thompson would be one of several candidates for save chances going forward.

Elly De La Cruz Swipes Two More Bags

Cincinnati Reds shortstop Elly De La Cruz went 1-for-3 with two steals in his team's 6-0 loss to the St. Louis Cardinals. The Reds were outscored 15-1, losing both games of their doubleheader on Wednesday, but the dynamic shortstop still found a way to be relevant. Overall, on the day, De La Cruz collected three singles and scored a run while bringing his steal total up to 13 on the season. He's been excellent thus far in 2025. In addition to being right on pace to hit 67 steals again, the Dominican Republic native is batting a cool .281 with five home runs, four doubles, 24 RBI, and 21 runs scored. Not only has he upped his hard-hit rate from the prior two campaigns (50%), but he's also making contact more often when he swings the bat (82.4% zone contact).

Elias Diaz Goes Yard On Wednesday Night

San Diego Padres catcher Elias Diaz hit his second home run of the season on Wednesday night, going 2-for-4 with a pair of runs scored to help fuel his team's 5-3 win. The Padres swept the brief two-game series against the Giants to bounce back after being swept at home by the Rays last weekend. Diaz is still hitting just .214 on the season but does have a .298 wOBA to go with his two home runs, eight walks, and a double. He will continue to share time behind the dish with Martin Maldonado, and although he's the better batter of the tandem, he isn't mixed-league material at this point. His power could make him a DFS or streaming option, though, if he can build on Wednesday's performance in the Friars' series this weekend in Pittsburgh.
