Chicago Cubs outfielder Seiya Suzuki (wrist) has been scratched from the lineup for Wednesday's series finale against the visiting Los Angeles Dodgers at Wrigley Field due to right-wrist soreness, according to the team. Suzuki is being considered day-to-day. Veteran Justin Turner will serve as the designated hitter and will bat third against Dodgers right-hander Ben Casparius. Fantasy managers will want to make sure Suzuki is out of their lineup for Wednesday's action, but hopefully he'll be feeling good enough to return for Friday's series opener against the visiting Philadelphia Phillies after an off day on Thursday. It's a bit concerning for the 30-year-old, though, as he also missed three games last week with the same issue. Since returning in the last five games, Suzuki has gone 5-for-22 with a double, two homers and five RBI. The Japanese outfielder is playing well early on with a .276/.354/.540 slash line and six homers.

Los Angeles Angels catcher Logan O'Hoppe is out of the starting lineup for Wednesday's contest against the visiting Pittsburgh Pirates at Angel Stadium in Anaheim. Travis d'Arnaud is doing the catching for right-hander Jack Kochanowicz and will hit fifth in the batting order versus Pirates left-hander Andrew Heaney. Although he's only faced Heaney six times in his career, d'Arnaud has taken him deep twice for solo shots, making him worth a look as a low-cost DFS sleeper on Wednesday evening. In the early going in 2025, the 25-year-old O'Hoppe has been one of the Angels' best hitters, slashing .284/.304/.522 with an .827 OPS, five home runs, nine RBI and eight runs scored in 67 at-bats. He should be back in the starting lineup for the Halos for Thursday's series finale against the Bucs. O'Hoppe entered Wednesday with a short three-game hitting streak in which he's gone 3-for-11 with a walk and run scored.

Tampa Bay Rays first baseman/designated hitter Jonathan Aranda will take a seat on Wednesday against the hosting Arizona Diamondbacks with left-hander Eduardo Rodriguez getting the nod on the bump. With the left-handed-hitting Aranda on the bench to start, Curtis Mead will play first base for the Rays and hit fifth against Rodriguez, a pitcher he's never faced. This should just be a routine day of rest against a southpaw for the 26-year-old Aranda, who should be rostered in all fantasy formats after starting the year slashing an impressive .344/.442/.656 with a 1.09 OPS, four home runs, 13 RBI and 12 runs scored in his first 64 at-bats. The Mexican slugger is on an early-season tear, but he's gone just 1-for-10 with four walks and four K's against lefties. Mead has been cold, going 4-for-29 with no homers and one RBI in 2025.

The Dallas Morning News' Shawn McFarland reports that Texas Rangers shortstop Corey Seager (hamstring) is going on the 10-day injured list on Wednesday with a right-hamstring strain. The good news, though, is that the Rangers expect it to be a short stay on the IL for Seager, who was forced from Tuesday's win early over the Athletics. Veteran shortstop Nick Ahmed, who was re-signed by the team a few weeks ago, will take Seager's place on the active MLB roster for the time being. Ahmed joins the big-league club, but it will most likely be Josh Smith taking most of the starts at the 6 while Seager is sidelined. Although Smith has little pop, he's a worthy middle infielder in deep mixed leagues while he's playing regularly. He also came into Wednesday's game hitting .367 (18-for-49) with three steals and 11 runs scored. Seager needs to be stashed in an IL spot in all fantasy leagues while he heals.

Philadelphia Phillies starting pitcher Zack Wheeler was tasked with taking the ball against his former team on Wednesday. Wheeler didn't make many mistakes outside of giving up a two-run home run to Brett Baty in the second inning. The right-hander tossed six innings, allowing five hits, two runs, and striking out nine batters along the way. Sadly for Wheeler, the Phillies offense didn't do much as they ended up dropping this game to the New York Mets. Wheeler will take a 3.62 ERA, 1.02 WHIP, and his league-leading 50 strikeouts into his next start against the Washington Nationals.
