Kansas City Royals first base prospect Derlin Figueroa enjoyed a breakout game at Low-A on Sunday. In this contest, Figueroa went 2-for-2 with two long balls. He brought in six runs and drew four walks. After going 0-for-4 in his last game on Saturday, Figueroa got himself back on the scoresheet in a big way. In their season opener on Friday, Figueroa tallied three singles and swiped a bag. The 21-year-old spent the entire 2024 campaign with Low-A Columbia and dealt with some growing pains. Across 118 total games, the infielder held a modest .223/.303/.364 slash line with just 16 doubles and 13 home runs. He swiped 15 bags but held a 49:108 BB:K. However, it appears Figueroa has begun to take the next step early in the 2025 season. If he continues to produce, he should move up to High-A in the coming weeks.

Minnesota Twins reliever Griffin Jax blew a save opportunity in Sunday's 9-7 extra-innings loss to the Houston Astros. The 30-year-old punched out three batters but allowed three hits and two earned in the outing. Jax entered the contest with a 7-5 lead, letting up an Isaac Paredes single and Yordan Alvarez two-run shot to open the inning. Christian Walker then doubled to center, but Jax was able to retire the next three batters via the K. It's an outing to forget for the righty, who has afforded his opponents at least one hit in each appearance thus far. He's in no danger of losing his role as the primary setup man and has historically been a better reliever. Still, 2025 has started shaky, as he holds an inflated 10.13 ERA.

Colorado Rockies catching prospect Cole Carrigg went 3-for-4 on Sunday with his first long ball and stolen base at the Double-A level. After tallying at least one hit in each of his first two games at the level, Carrigg enjoyed a breakout showing as he hit his first round-tripper at this level and tallied four RBI. This was also his first time reaching first base multiple times in a game this season. Carrigg spent the majority of the 2024 season with High-A Spokane and held a strong .280/.358/.475 slash line with 16 doubles and 16 round-trippers. He showed elite speed as he swiped 51 bags and held a solid 50:97 BB:K. The 22-year-old has looked quite comfortable holding a .385/.429/.629 through three games with Double-A. Given that he spent the entire 2024 season with High-A, he will likely only be in the mix for a late-season taste of Triple-A.

Chicago White Sox infield prospect Chase Meidroth went 3-for-3 with a double and a home run during their victory over Norfolk. Meidroth drew two walks in this contest and tallied two RBI with four runs. Meidroth went deep in the sixth frame on a two-run shot, which also scored Zach DeLoach. This was another impressive outing for Meidroth, who has enjoyed a strong start to the Triple-A regular season. The former fourth-round selection was in contention to make the MLB roster out of camp, but may not need to wait long to make his major league debut. Through the first seven games of the Charlotte Knights season, Meidroth has tallied three round-trippers and held an overall .333/.500/.750 line. Fantasy managers in AL-only formats should continue to monitor his development.

The Boston Red Sox have traded pitcher Quinn Priester to the Milwaukee Brewers for minor-league outfielder Yophery Rodriguez, a competitive-balance Round A draft pick, and a player to be named later, or cash considerations. Boston acquired Priester from the Pittsburgh Pirates at last season's trade deadline. Though the 24-year-old hadn't entirely adjusted to his move last year, he pitched to a solid 3.21 ERA and 1.07 WHIP (33.2 innings) with 36 strikeouts in seven starts for Triple-A Indianapolis. On the other hand, Rodriguez hadn't shown much in Single-A ball with the Carolina Mudcats in 2024 but started this season scorching hot at High-A Wisconsin, batting .417 (5-for-12) with a double, triple, and three runs scored. With Milwaukee's rotation depth in disarray -- including the most recent injury to Nestor Cortes (elbow) -- a move was necessitated to bolster their reserves.
