Milwaukee Brewers manager Pat Murphy said infielder Joey Ortiz (neck) is dealing with a neck issue that first cropped up in the recent series against the Los Angeles Angels, which is why he was pulled from Wednesday's contest early against the visiting Texas Rangers. The 25-year-old went 0-for-2 against Texas before departing the game in the sixth inning in an eventual extra-inning victory. Ortiz's injury doesn't sound too serious, so he could be right back in Milwaukee's starting lineup for Friday's series opener against the division-rival Chicago Cubs after a scheduled off day on Thursday. The former fourth-round pick by the Baltimore Orioles in 2019 out of New Mexico State has had a solid first season for the Brew Crew, slashing .278/.383/.459 with an .842 OPS, seven home runs, 28 RBI, five steals and 32 runs in 71 games played.

Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Teoscar Hernandez is back in left field and will bat second on Wednesday in Chicago against the White Sox and right-hander Erick Fedde. Hernandez left the team briefly to take care of a personal matter in the Dominican Republic and missed the first two games of the series in the Windy City, but he's back now and should be returned to all starting fantasy lineups amid an excellent first season in Hollywood. He has also homered twice with three RBI in his four career at-bats against Fedde, so the matchup is an excellent one for DFS managers. The 31-year-old right-handed slugger had a down year in 2023 with the Seattle Mariners and had a career-high 211 strikeouts, but he's bounced back in a big way and has been ultra-productive in a potent Dodgers lineup by hitting .254 (77-for-303) with 18 homers, 54 RBI and 43 runs scored in 79 games.

Houston Astros second baseman Jose Altuve was once again solid at the plate during Wednesday's game against the Colorado Rockies. The veteran infielder went 2-for-5 with a pair of RBIs and two stolen bases in the win. Unsurprisingly, Altuve was the offensive catalyst for this team. The 34-year-old has been hot with a .365 batting average with three home runs and 13 RBI over his last 15 games. Fantasy managers should make sure to keep Altuve in their lineups while he's hot at the plate.

Houston Astros starting pitcher Spencer Arrighetti was impressive on the mound during Wednesday's outing against the Colorado Rockies. The rookie right-hander struck out 10 batters over seven shutout innings during Wednesday's win. The Rockies' hitters only managed three hits off Arrighetti as he put together his best performance of the season. It's worth noting that Arrighetti was hit around by the White Sox and Tigers during his two previous outings. He'll be a boom-or-bust option for his next start against the Toronto Blue Jays.

Pittsburgh Pirates outfielder Bryan Reynolds officially owns the longest hit streak of the 2024 season. The switch-hitter singled in the first inning of Wednesday's game to extend his hitting streak to 23 games. It was his lone hit of the afternoon, but he's still in the middle of a stellar stretch of play. Reynolds is hitting .323 with seven home runs over the last 30 games. Fantasy managers should make sure to get Reynolds in their lineups going forward.
