Los Angeles Dodgers starting pitcher Clayton Kershaw tossed six scoreless innings against the St. Louis Cardinals on Sunday. The left-hander struck out two batters and allowed four hits in his six innings of work. The 36-year-old veteran is 2-1 this season in five starts with a 2.63 ERA and 1.25 WHIP. He has 19 strikeouts in 24 innings. This was a little bit of a vintage Kershaw performance and he has shown that there is still a bit of magic left in his left arm.

Milwaukee Brewers starting pitcher Colin Rea improved to 11-4 on the season by shutting out the Cleveland Guardians over seven innings, allowing just two hits with five strikeouts. Rea has a 3.52 ERA and 1.15 WHIP this season over 135 1/3 innings pitched with 108 strikeouts. He doesn't boast a high strikeout rate, but outings like these show how effective he can be and has been for the most part this season. The right-hander is turning in a breakout season for the Brew Crew.

Houston Astros pitcher Framber Valdez turned in a dominant outing Sunday in the team's 2-0 win over the Chicago White Sox. The left-hander shut out Chicago over seven innings with three hits and nine strikeouts to win his eighth straight decision. Valdez has been red hot and has lowered his ERA to 3.20 on the season with a 1.14 WHIP and a 13-5 record. The 30-year-old is dialed in lately and continues to be an excellent fantasy option.

Seattle Mariners catcher Cal Raleigh went 1-for-5 with a two-run homer in the Mariners' 10-3 win over Pittsburgh on Sunday. Raleigh blasted his 27th home run of the season to bring his RBI total to 78. He is hitting .211/.304/.440 on the season. The 27-year-old backstop is a valuable catcher in fantasy because of the power he brings to the table. His batting average, while low, doesn't crush fantasy managers because the position tends to carry more risk in that category. Raleigh should continue to do what he does the rest of the way which is crush homers.

Arizona Diamondbacks second baseman Ketel Marte appeared to re-aggravate his ankle injury during Sunday's game and was forced to leave the game early, according to Nick Piecoro of the Arizona Republic. Marte was pinch-hitting when he appeared to feel something on a check swing and had to be helped off the field. Marte is hitting .298/.370/.560 with 30 homers and 81 RBI this season. It's been a great year for Marte as he has established himself as one of the top fantasy second basemen, so this injury is frustrating for fantasy managers.
