San Diego Padres pitching prospect Ryan Bergert has had mixed results at Double-A San Antonio this season, but is coming off his best start of the season and was named Texas League Pitcher of the Week. Bergert threw six innings as part of the San Antonio Missions' combined no-hitter on Thursday. He struck out nine with no walks in the outing. That effort lowered his ERA to 5.12 on the season. In August, the Padres' No. 26 prospect has been stellar with a 1.29 ERA and 0.93 WHIP in three starts. It seems that the 24-year-old may have turned the corner a bit with his recent results in what has been a bit of a struggle this year statistically. The right-hander will look to finish the season strong and perhaps put himself in position to start next year at Triple-A.

Seattle Mariners outfield prospect Lazaro Montes is swinging a hot bat in August for High-A Everett and was just named Northwest League Hitter of the Week after hitting .526 with a 1.562 OPS last week with seven RBI. In 15 games in August, Montes is hitting .400/.493/.618 with three homers and 11 RBI. The Mariners' No. 3 prospect is dialing up his game this month as he continues to adjust to High-A as a 19-year-old. The ceiling seems to be very high for Montes as he continues his professional career. In a few years, he could be a mainstay in the Mariners' outfield and a big-time addition to fantasy rosters. But that is still a ways away.

The Atlanta Braves will have 40-year-old Yuli Gurriel playing some third base for Triple-A Gwinnett as the team scrambles to replace third baseman Austin Riley (hand), who was placed on the injured list Monday. Gurriel has not played third since 2019, when he was with the American League champion Houston Astros, and he has not played in the majors this season. The 2021 American League batting champion is hitting .300 in 72 games this season with Gwinnett. The Braves are also closing in on a deal with Gio Urshela, who was released by the Detroit Tigers Sunday. Neither project to offer impactful numbers for fantasy managers if/when they are called up.

New York Yankees outfield prospect Jasson Dominguez has been sent back to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. Dominguez, the Yankees No.1 prospect per MLB Pipeline appeared in Sunday's contest, but went 0-for-4 with three strikeouts. The talented outfielder recovered from Tommy John surgery earlier in the year, but then had another set back with an oblique injury. When on the field, the 21-year-old has been productive with a .298 batting average to go along with seven homers and 24 RBI in 40 games. He is likely to return to the Yankees during September call-ups and will be worth rostering in all formats when that happens.

Pittsburgh Pirates pitching prospect Thomas Harrington has been sharp since being promoted to Triple-A and was just named International League Pitcher of the Week. In three starts for the Indianapolis Indians, the Pirates' No. 5 prospect is 1-1 with a 3.63 ERA and 0.87 WHIP. He has 11 strikeouts in 17 1/3 innings pitched at Triple-A. In his latest start, Harrington went seven scoreless, allowing just two hits with no walks and two strikeouts. The 23-year-old right-hander features plus pitches with his fastball, slider, and changeup and is known for having good command of his arsenal. He has adjusted nicely to Triple-A and could be looking at a big-league debut by next season.
