Cincinnati Reds starting pitcher prospect Rhett Lowder struggled in his most recent start with Double-A Chattanooga. Facing the Pensacola Blue Wahoos, he threw five innings, allowing eight hits, six earned runs, one walk, and two home runs. The 22-year-old righty struck out six. Overall, Lowder has had mixed results since his promotion to Double-A at the beginning of May. Through 34 innings, he has a 7.15 ERA and an .890 OPS against. Cincinnati's top prospect (per MLB.com), Lowder is expected to make his MLB debut sometime this year. However, if he doesn't turn things around in the minors, it may not happen until 2025.

Los Angeles Dodgers starting pitcher Clayton Kershaw (shoulder) won't make a start on Tuesday and will be shut down from throwing for a week. The veteran left-hander has reportedly been feeling soreness in his shoulder since throwing a bullpen session last week. The MRI showed no new damage on his shoulder, so it just sounds like soreness. Fantasy managers that were hopeful to get Kershaw back we'll have to wait a little longer.

Chicago White Sox outfielder Eloy Jimenez (hamstring) remains in the starting lineup ahead of Monday's game against the Los Angeles Dodgers. This is somewhat surprising considering Jimenez mentioned experiencing hamstring soreness in his return on Sunday. Despite that, the oft-injured outfielder will remain in the starting lineup for Monday's game. He'll serve as the designated hitter and bat cleanup versus left-hander James Paxton.

San Diego Padres outfielder Fernando Tatis Jr. (quadriceps) has been placed on the 10-day injured list ahead of Monday's game. This is a tough loss for the Padres, who are already dealing with multiple injuries. Manager Mike Shildt said that Tatis is dealing with a slight stress reaction in his quad. The team hasn't given a timetable for Tatis' return, but he'll likely miss multiple weeks of action. In a corresponding move, Bryce Johnson has been recalled from the minors. With Tatis out, the Padres figure to use some combination of David Peralta and Jose Azocar in right field, with Peralta on the strong side of a platoon against right-handed pitching.

New York Mets relief pitcher Edwin Diaz has been suspended 10 games for violating the rules on foreign substances. The right-hander was tossed from Sunday's game against the Chicago Cubs before ever throwing a pitch. Diaz said afterwards that it was rosin on his hand, but it doesn't sound like he's going to appeal the suspension. The Mets are likely to use a committee approach with Adam Ottavino and Reed Garrett until Diaz is back.
