Welcome to the prop bet tracker. As MLB season gets into high gear, another way to get in on the action is to analyze the day’s best prop bets – from strikeouts to home runs, first to five runs to total bases logged.

Each day, we will try to identify a few picks that are ready to explode in the prop market.

Kenta Maeda Over 5.5 Strikeouts (-143, BetMGM)

It has been a very up-and-down season for Kenta Maeda. His season-long numbers will certainly make you cringe as you look at them, but since he has returned from the IL, he’s been a strikeout machine, recording a 28.4% strikeout rate over those 20 innings. We project him for over 6.5 strikeouts Friday, and he could smash this easily, as we saw him sparkle with 10 whiffs in his last start.

Charlie Morton Over 6.5 Strikeouts (-110, FanDuel)

As the Braves rotation has been blasted by injuries, one pitcher who has been out of this world for the last two months is Charlie Morton. He owns a 27.4% strikeout rate on the year, but he’s darn near topped a 30% mark in this recent run. That’s great news for a pitcher facing the Miami Marlins, who have struggled at the plate in the last two weeks, with a wRC+ of 91 and a 25.5% strikeout rate. We projected Morton for 7.2 strikeouts, so if he can be as good as advertised, this bet will cook.
