Welcome to the prop bet tracker. As MLB season gets into high gear, another way to get in on the action is to analyze the day’s best prop bets – from strikeouts to home runs, first to five runs to total bases logged.

Each day, we will try to identify a few picks that are ready to explode in the prop market.

Nelson Cruz, DH, Tampa Bay Rays

To hit a home run (+305, PointsBet)

This could be another money bet. Eduardo Rodríguez has struggled with a 5.53 ERA this season, and Nelson Cruz has pounded lefties this year. On the season, he’s logged a .210 ISO and 154 WRC+ in this split. The implied team for the Rays is over 4.5 runs, and I think Nelly is a big part of an offensive explosion here.

Alex Wood, SP, San Francisco Giants

Over 5.5 strikeouts (-105, BetMGM)

This feels like nearly free money – there’s a lot of reasons to be bullish here. Let’s take out any of the superlatives of Alex Wood. The Diamondbacks have truly been bad at the plate this season, recording a 30.3% strikeout rate and second-worst team WOBA mark in the league. Woof. And Wood is good – he’s racked up a 25.1% strikeout rate in the year. Dial him in.
