Welcome to the prop bet tracker. As MLB season kicks off into full swing, another way to get in on the action is to analyzes the day’s best prop bets – from strikeouts to home runs, first to five runs to total bases logged.
Each day, we will try and identify a few picks that are ready to explode in the prop market.
Tyler Mahle Over 5.5 Strikeouts (-133, BetMGM)
Honestly? This line confuses me. Mahle has been the darling of the fantasy community for quite some time. And he’s been the darling for good reason — he’s freaking good, y’all. In nine innings this year, Mahle has racked up 15 strikeouts. That’ll do, donkey. Oh, and the Giants? A wRC+ of 89 and a 30% K rate against righties. Pound this bet.
Charlie Morton Under 6.5 Strikeouts (-152, DraftKings Sportsbook)
I hate unders. I really do. It’s like rooting against fun. Or, the dude betting against the Pass line in craps. It sucks, and my friends and I often try to hit those people with dice at the table (more on that later). But in all seriousness? The Marlins are swinging the bat well at the dish, as evidenced by last night’s offensive explosion (a 14-8 win for the Marlins), and Morton only hit this mark twice a season ago in 12 starts. Hard pass (pun intended) for me.
Ty France to hit a Home Run and Team to Win (+800, DraftKings Sportsbook)
People — Matt Harvey is still in baseball. I’m not kidding. And 2021 has been bad. He’s getting blasted yet again, and he pitches home in Camden Yards. This will be a blood bath, and stacking Mariners is a must. France has been torching the baseball, and I love his potential to smack Harvey around.
