There are plenty of different props to choose from on PrizePicks, and there’s a lot of money to be made. You can pick your choice of MLB, NHL, CBB, NBA, PGA, MMA, tennis, soccer and more. As you’ll see below, I’ll be focusing on MLB and NHL. I’ll have a PP video a bit later in the day that will focus on the late slate.

Speaking of “PrizePicks,” it is a creative new way to parlay picks based on expected fantasy point production. To dive into the ins and outs of everything PrizePicks, FTN’s Tyler Loechner wrote a comprehensive App Review.

How to play PrizePicks MLB

The format is simple. You pick two, three or four players and predict whether they will go over or under their projected fantasy point total.

When parlaying the players, the larger your parlay, the better the payout:

  • Two-pick entry pays 2.5x (max entry: $400)
  • Three-pick entry pays 5x (max entry: $200)
  • Four-pick entry pays 10x (max entry: $100)

As a bonus offer, there is a “flex play” option if you choose to run a four-man parlay. This will provide some security, as you can earn 1.5x your buy-in if three of your four picks hit.

Below are my top PrizePicks for Thursday’s slate in the MLB and NHL. I will be mixing and matching my pick combinations from the pool below, with my favorite combination(s) also included.

MLB PrizePicks for today

Here's a look at my favorite picks on PrizePicks Thursday.

J.D. Martinez OVER 8.5 fantasy points

Martinez has been absolutely tearing the cover off the baseball to start the season. He’s always been known as a lefty killer, but he’s rocking some pretty solid numbers vs. RHP this season: 5 HR, 5 2B, 16 RBI, .442/.510/.907, 1.417 OPS, .465 ISO, .588 wOBA, 290 wRC+, 52 FB% and 48 HH%. He’ll see pitches from Justin Dunn, who has a 55 FB% through his 9.2 innings (4 ER, 10 BB).

Sidney Crosby OVER 4.5 fantasy points
Bryan Rust OVER 3.5 fantasy points

The Pens and the Devils combined for 13 goals Tuesday and have combined to score 30 goals in the last three meetings. The Devils have coughed up at least four goals in eight of their last 10 games and 11 of 15. Their 3.15 GA/60 at 5v5 per 60 ranks 30th and the Pens rank third in GF/60 (3.01). Pittsburgh has at least four goals in 10 of the last 14, so if the Penguins get four here, you’d have to think Crosby was part of it. One goal and three shots, or two points and a couple of shots will do it. Crosby has two goals, six points and 12 shots in his last three games vs. NJ. Rust has three goals and seven points in his last three games against the Devils.
