There are plenty of different props to choose from on PrizePicks, and there’s a lot of money to be made. You can pick your choice of MLB, NHL, CBB, NBA, PGA, MMA, tennis, soccer and more. As you’ll see below, I’ll be focusing on MLB and NHL. I’ll have a PP video a bit later in the day that will focus on the late slate.

Speaking of “PrizePicks,” it is a creative new way to parlay picks based on expected fantasy point production. To dive into the ins and outs of everything PrizePicks, FTN’s Tyler Loechner wrote a comprehensive App Review.

How to play PrizePicks MLB

The format is simple. You pick two, three or four players and predict whether they will go over or under their projected fantasy point total.

When parlaying the players, the larger your parlay, the better the payout:

  • Two-pick entry pays 2.5x (max entry: $400)
  • Three-pick entry pays 5x (max entry: $200)
  • Four-pick entry pays 10x (max entry: $100)

As a bonus offer, there is a “flex play” option if you choose to run a four-man parlay. This will provide some security, as you can earn 1.5x your buy-in if three of your four picks hit.

Below are my top PrizePicks for Thursday’s slate in the MLB. I will be mixing and matching my pick combinations from the pool below, with my favorite combination(s) also included.

Scoring breakdown for PrizePicks contests can be found here.

MLB PrizePicks for today

Here's a look at my favorite picks around baseball on PrizePicks Thursday.

Ronald Acuña Jr. OVER 9 fantasy points

It’s hard not to ride Acuña as he enters Thursday as the no. 1 player in fantasy baseball. The outfielder is slashing .447/.500/1.000 through 12 games. He leads baseball with 15 runs, six homers, 21 hits and 47 total bases. Acuña also has three stolen bases and a .500 OBP. He has runs and hits in six straight games.

Yermin Mercedes OVER 6 fantasy points

Mercedes leads the White Sox with 14 hits, 10 singles, three homers, a .500 average, .595 wOBA and 291 wRC+ against right-handed batters this season. His 41.7 FB% vs. RHP ranks second on the team behind Billy Hamilton of all people. Aaron Civale enters with a 79% contact rate which ranks 17th among qualified starters. He’s only allowed four runs on five hits over 14.2 innings, but both of his outings cames against the Detroit Tigers. Civale has coughed up three homers and he’s rocking a 44 FB% to go along with a 45% hard-hit rate.

The full list of picks

  • Ronald Acuña Jr. (9.0 fantasy points) — OVER
  • Yermin Mercedes (6.0 fantasy points) — OVER
  • Rafael Devers (7.5 fantasy points) — OVER
  • Mitch Haniger (6 fantasy points) — OVER

NHL PrizePicks for today

Here's a look at my favorite picks in hockey PrizePicks Thursday.

Sidney Crosby OVER 4.1 fantasy points

Crosby has two goals and nine points over his past six games, and he’s in a great spot here to pad the stats. The Penguins and Flyers meet for the sixth time this season and we’ve seen at least seven goals in each of the first five matchups. The Pens have scored at least four goals in six straight games and nine of their past 10. Philly enters with a league-worst 3.83 GA/60 at 5v5 since March 1.

The full list of picks

  • Sidney Crosby (4.1 fantasy points) — OVER
  • Alex Ovechkin (4.9 fantasy points) — OVER
  • Mika Zibanejad (3.6 fantasy points) — OVER
