We have a rare treat of a mainly main MLB DFS slate on a Wednesday, as we get a solid 10-game slate without much in the way of a truce ace. With Logan Webb as the top dog with regard to price, and Nick Pivetta trailing just behind, that should give you some immediate optionality between safety and upside.
Ordinarily I wouldn’t think very long about paying nearly $10K for Webb, but we are so bereft of pitching with a decent floor on this slate that I’m going to think about it a little longer than usual. Pivetta on the other hand can be mercurial but possesses tantalizing upside and gets a pristine matchup against the A’s who strike out at a 28.6% rate against RHP, second highest in baseball. So, which will it be? Are we chasing ceiling, betting on a solid floor, or trying to jam in the two closest things we have to interesting DFS plays despite them being the two most expensive options on the slate (and not particularly attractive on a point-per-dollar basis)?
