I have to first make mention of the fact that Ronel Blanco is again the most expensive pitcher on the day’s MLB DFS slate, which mainly stems back to his April no-hitter, and that is hilarious to me. It’s as though there is a “no-hitter” column that is part of the weighted algorithm, and he’s getting partial credit for a way higher probability of a no-hitter than every other pitcher on every slate. If that’s the case DraftKings, figure it out. Ain’t no way I’m paying five figures for Ronel Blanco!
That said, there are actual good pitchers on Wednesday’s slate (we are discussing the early slate here, I guess now is a good time to mention that). There is the permanently in debate Aaron Nola, who probably is a little better than everyone thinks at an extremely expensive $10,500, a resurgent Luis Severino at a very fair $8,500 and some other interesting matchup-based names in the mid-tier that we’ll have to consider.
We’ll also want to consider that this is both a Patrick Corbin slate and a Coors slate and generally a pretty bad pitching slate, so most of the field will be paying up for premium bats.
