With an early five-game MLB DFS slate and a late six-gamer Wednesday, I think it makes all the sense in the world to get the party started early with the 1:10 p.m. ET slate. As far as the type of party we are expecting, we are expecting an offensive-focused party, with a $9,400 Nathan Eovaldi checking in as the top pitching option.
Sometimes there are things that happen to a slate that disrupt the overall slate environment, and one such example would be the Tigers deciding to toss Keider Montero to the Phillies as a sacrificial lamb. In his MLB debut back in May, the 23-year-old Montero got absolutely blasted by a much less talented Pirates squad, and failed to complete 5 innings. The Phillies, as you know, are quite a bit better on offense than their Keystone State neighbors to the west. I’m sure it will be immensely popular, but I don’t know how you don’t sell out to try and get to Phillies stacks all over the board. There is plenty else to be differentiated, but there’s no other team that can match the Phillies expected run total (I’m pretty sure — I’m writing this Tuesday night and not all of that info is available).
