MLB Best Bets – Free (Wednesday 7/24)

If you thought that this week was wonky MLB scheduling-wise with a three-day weekend to start the week, you are about to be proved right. The Pirates and Tigers have a doubleheader that starts at 12:40 p.m. ET, the Reds and Cardinals have a more traditional 1:10 p.m. start, and then there’s a smattering of other off-brand start times that apparently made it not super conducive to publishing a DK DFS slate, so as of when I started writing there was not one posted.
As such, we will be focusing on what is typically the main slate, although it is only a 7-gamer due to all the weirdness early in the day. Never fear — Adam, Alex and I will be your huckleberries and answer all of your short slate questions as best we can in the Discord starting with whatever early slate is posted by DK.
As for the options we have available on the main slate, we have two clear top options at SP in Shōta Imanaga and Luis Gil if our budgets can afford their hefty salaries, and then a whole lot of uninteresting options in the mid-tier, with two below $8K names that stand out.
