MLB Prop Bet of the Day

Alex Wood OVER 5.5 strikeouts vs. Texas (-137, William Hill

The Giants, busting it out of the box, are an unexpected six games above .500. Balanced across the board, they rank No. 9 in total OPS and No. 7 in total team ERA. Suffice it to say, the Padres won’t automatically be crowned kings of the NL West. Wood is one of many reasons why. The southpaw has undergone a rebirth by the Bay. Through 23.0 innings pitched, he’s registered a sparkling 1.96 ERA and 4.40 K/BB, eclipsing the proposed total in two of four starts. His slider and change have left many hitters second-guessing. Rangers hitters could soon walk back to the dugout in disgust. Texas ranks No. 8 in strikeout rate, swinging and missing at a 26.3% clip. Inside the chilly confines of Oracle Park, expect the converted reliever to continue to deal.
