A .100 batting average. That’s what this poor and destitute gambler is batting in this space over the last 10 days. It’s a miserable streak, one that will eventually turn and erase the constant futility. The last winner in this space came from the MLB — over on Chris Bassitt Ks. In an attempt to recapture the positive juju, we’re drinking again from the same West Coast waters with another A’s starter. Yes, it’s a five-gallon tub of juice at -161, but the lean is trendy for a reason. Montas has struck out at least six batters in six of his last eight starts. His 12.3 swinging strike percentage and 3.13 road ERA are also attractive indicators. So is the Rangers’ proclivity for punchouts. Overall, they currently rank No. 9 in highest K rate. Add it all up and the Oakland hurler should deliver a Grade A performance.
