MLB Prop Bet of the Day

Sandy Alcantara OVER 5.5 strikeouts vs. San Francisco (-124, BetMGM

Stretching back to last year’s shortened season, Alcantara, predatory by nature, has attacked the opposition with the aggressiveness of a blood-thirsty bull shark. Leaning more heavily on his change (21.2% of the time) to complement a blazing fastball (97.6 average mph), he’s once again drawn ample weak contact (47.7 GB%) while piling up the punchouts (15.0 swinging strike%). Thus far, he’s totaled six strikeouts or more in two of three turns, notching seven Ks against Tampa and 10 versus St. Louis. With his once elusive command honed, Alcantara has morphed into a legitimate top-of-the-rotation starter. Another impressive outing is in the forecast. San Francisco, swinging toothpicks to begin the season, checks in at No. 27 in total OPS through 13 games. More promising for the prop, the Giants have hit a putrid .203 against RHP and struck out at a 25.4% clip overall, the 12th-highest mark in the majors. Exit light. Enter night. Clutch your pillow tight. Miami’s Sandman is about to lull San Francisco to sleep.
